Interview with Cassidy Kingston + Giveaway [INT]!

Prepare to get wild! It's Erotica Week here at TBQ's Book Palace as part of my 4 year blogoversary celebration!  Plus, did I mention there's a giveaway involved? :)

Today I'd like to welcome Cassidy to the blog--she's a writer of hot erotica novels! Now, I haven't read any of her work yet, but from what I've seen, I think she's definitely an author to watch! :)
~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

I am a wife, mother, writer and avid reader. I live in Alabama where it is too hot, too humid and there are too many bugs. I have multiple degrees in subjects that have nothing to do with writing.

Where to Find Cassidy:
 WebsiteFacebook | Twitter | GoodReads

The_Book_Queen: Hi Cassidy! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Cassidy: Well I am married and have three kids. We live in Alabama. I have degrees in Animal and Ecological Biology and Developmental Psychology…so naturally I write erotic romance J I have always loved to read so being a writer started as a hobby then just progressed. I also do a lot of my writing during my kids sporting events. And I suck at names…so if anyone has any name suggestions for me by all means send them my way.

TBQ: Your newest release, Scent of Desire came out a few months ago. Can you tell us a little bit about this book, and why readers are going to love it?
C: It is the 2nd in a series of 5 short stories based on the 5 senses. It is about a scent demon, Aiden, who tracks people by their scent. He is hired to find a run away young woman who is being accused of murder. Everyone who reads this story gets mad at me because they fall in love with Aiden and want it to be longer than a short story. Thankfully I have a WIP about another scent demon in the works.

TBQ: Are there other genres you would like to write about?
C: I actually write YA paranormal thrillers under my real name J I would love to write horror because that was my first love, but sadly I can’t writer it to save my life.

TBQ: I know we all hate this question, author and reader alike. :) But I have to ask: What are a few of your favorite books and/or authors?
C: I love “The Girl who loved Tom Gordon” By Stephen King. It is not one of his most popular books and is not an out right horror novel but it is so well written and really pulled me in. I would have to say that he is my favorite author. I also love The Hallows by Kim Harrison, The southern vampire books by Charlaine Harris and The Dexter series by Jeff Lindsay. As for erotic romance I LOVE Melissa Schroeder. Her Harmless series is awesome.

TBQ: Have you ever fallen for a hero, either from one of your books or from another author? If so, who is he and what drew you to him?
C: I will admit I am totally in love with Eric Northman. I have told my husband many times I would leave him for Eric. I also love my character Aiden from Scent of Desire.

Great cover--and it was
revealed just in time for this post! :)
TBQ: What's next-- Can you tell us a little bit about your upcoming releases or WIP?
C: My third short story in the series, Touch of Pleasure, will be out Mid August. The last two, Vision of Ecstasy and Sounds of Passion, do not have release dates yet. I have a contemporary romance WIP and another scent demon novel WIP. I also have a novella on submission that is the first in a series, so hopefully it will be out soon. J

SPEED ROUND:

A day on a secluded island OR a day at the spa? Spa

Reading a spicy romance novel OR a sweet “my-heart-skips-a-beat” one? spicy

Which would you rather have an affair with: a sexy highlander OR a devilishly handsome English lord? English lord

Hot summer days OR cold winter nights? Winter nights

Where would your dream house be: in the city, where all the action is OR nestled in the mountain where you can enjoy the quiet and the wilderness? Mountains absolutely! [Personally, I don't believe there is any other answer to this question, but I have to ask! :) ]

If you could live in any time period, past or future, which one would it be? The future…I totally want a robot to clean my house and for my car to fly and drive its self J

Cover Lover OR Blurb Fan? Cover Lover

Steamy Novella OR Sweet Novel? (aka, Quickie or Slow Build Up?) Steamy novella

And finally, tell us 3 unique/wacky/fun things about yourself:
I can tell the sex of a frog just by picking it up. [I hope you at least take him/her for dinner first! ;) lol ]
I will be at Dragon*con this year dressed as a steampunk Vampire, Captain America and someone from the Capital of Panem J (read as I’m a geek) [No no; read as "I am awesome!"]
And if you ever want to make some money bet on the person I did not pick in a UFC match…never fails that I always pick the loser J

The_Book_Queen: Thanks so much for stopping by, Cassidy, and please know that you are welcome back anytime! Do you have any questions for our readers—something to spark a good discussion? :)

Cassidy:
In my short story series each main character has a supernatural power linked to one of the 5 senses. So if you could choose which sense to have linked to a supernatural power which would it be, taste, scent, touch, hearing or vision?

This sounds like a good story. I have not read anything by Ms. Kingston but I will be checking into her books. I love erotic romances, and paranormals are one of my favorite genres. Thanks for the chance to try a new to me author.

Your stories sound so good! I havent read them. Definitely going to! Thanks for sharing! As for your question, id pick touch. If its linked supernaturally, you never know what your going to get. :) You could heal those how needed help, or hurt those who hurt you or give more pleasure to your partner than theyve ever had!! ;)

I like the sounds of these books. I am new to Cassidy's books and want to get some of them. I would love supernatural vision. Since my hearing is gone, it doesn't bother me to not hear, but I love to see and catch little details.

I think the idea of having each of your stories deal with each of the 5 senses is a great idea. I've read "The Scent of Desire" and scent tracking would be a cool ability. Aside from that I think something dealing with hearing could be for me as well. I'm already good at picking up sounds that other people tend not to notice, so enhancing that would work well for me.
