Blog Tour Review: "Welcome to Paradise"

Welcome to Paradise by Rosalind James
Publication Date: April 12th, 2013
Series: The Kincaids, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance

They’re going to party like it’s 1885.

Mira Walker is hoping that competing on a “living history” reality show will give her what’s missing from her real life. Maybe she’ll get closer to her boyfriend, who hasn’t been all that nice to her lately. Get fired up about her job again. Who knows, she might even win a million dollars.

Gabe Kincaid and his brother Alec are after that million too, though. Mira and Scott are no threat at all, not when everybody involved is going to want to kill Scott after the first day. And there’s no bond stronger than a twin’s. What could possibly go wrong?

My Review:

As I started reading Welcome to Paradise, I wasn't sure what to expect. Obviously a little fun, following the characters through this game show. And definitely some drama of some kind. Maybe even a little romance. But I was surprised at how much I liked this book, and I think I may look into trying another book by Rosalind James in the future.

The storyline for this was pretty interesting, and unique. I would definitely watch a show like the one described in this book! Heck, I think it would be interesting to be on such a show, though I'm not sure if I'd be able to stick it out long enough to win. :) I thought the author did a wonderful job at creating this story; I was definitely entertained!

3.5 STARS! If you're looking for something a little different to read, I suggest you pick up Welcome to Paradise. It's not just a romance, though the romance aspect is done nicely (Gabe, ah, I think he stole my heart a little, too!). This was truly a fun read, and I liked watching the characters try to live like it was the 19th century. The only problem I had with the book was the characters; at times I felt like they were a little flat, and I found myself reading more for the story than for them. Still, an enjoyable read, and one that will at least stick out in my mind. Oh, and did I mention the shaving scene? That was enough to make me melt a bit, Gabe is a keeper for sure! I'm curious to see Alec's story and who he will end up with.

I received a copy of this e-book through the blog tour, in exchange for my honest opinion.

Have you read any of Rosalind James' books? It looks like she has a previous series, set in New Zeland, that sounds kind of interesting! :)

Oh, and Rosalind is running a giveaway right now on her Facebook page---be sure to check it out!

I have read all of Rosalind's books and they are all great (I've read all of them multiple times) but this book is one of my very favorites. I love Gabe, he is one of my favorite romance heroes ever!!

Thanks for stopping by! :) Gabe is definitely a swoon-worthy hero, I have to agree there. Any man who will take a razor to his lady's legs (and, very important here, NOT CUT HER!) is a definite keeper. Heck, I can't even do my own w/o cuts! :D
Enjoy!
