Here's my candidate for the week:

Taking Him by Jackie Ashenden
Publisher: Samhain Publishing, Ltd. (November 12, 2013)
Series: Lies We Tell, 1
Genre: New Adult Conemporary

Behind every hero is the damage that made him

Lies We Tell, Book 1

Computer game designer Ellie Fox can’t wait to start her new job in Japan. But first there’s one loose end in Auckland she needs to tie up: her obsession with her older brother’s best friend, Hunter Chase.

She’s sick of being “kid zoned”. It’s time to make like one of her kick-ass computer game heroines and take matters into her own hands. Except when she finally has Hunter where she wants him, her hands are the last thing he’ll let her use.

Hunter works hard at running the construction firm he co-owns with his friend, and at keeping his distance from his dysfunctional family. Control is his linchpin, but there’s just one spanner in the works—Ellie.

The girl he always looked out for suddenly seems determined to make him see her as a woman. But with a past darker than the angel wings tattooed on his back, the safest place for her is just beyond arm’s length. Or the next heart to suffer damage could be hers.

Warning: Contains a tortured hero, a determined heroine, cosplay kink, and a twisted twist that could cause mental whiplash. Line to the WTF Infirmary forms on the right.

Why?

Come on, that's a sexy cover! WOW! *shivers*

Yes, as Jackie said, the Samhain cover gods did in fact bless her. I cannot wait to read this one, as I enjoyed her newest Entangled book last week!

Kame's Pick:

Rush by Joan Swan
Publisher: Brava (August 27, 2013)
Series: Phoenix Rising, 3
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Jessica Fury, Washington lobbyist, has money, connections, and her own firm. But five years ago she had something better: happiness. Her firefighter husband, Quaid, was handsome, courageous, and crazy about her. Then one day he walked into a chemical inferno—and never walked out. Jessica has been through hell to get back on her feet. And then a rumor surfaces that could bring a miracle or shatter her world – again.

Q has been a prisoner forever. He’s honed his mind and body into weapons. He’s developed abilities no one else understands. But he’s still at the mercy of a cabal of ruthless men, who blank his memory, test him like a lab rat, and tell him lies. Although his past has been erased and his future looks grim, instinct tells him he has a woman to live for. What his mind can’t remember, his body can’t forget…

The heat is on.

Why?

Kame saw this one on NetGalley, and the cover caught her attention, even if the story isn't one she'd would typically pick up.

TBQ: I'm a fan because of the blue, and, okay, the man chest, too. :D I've not read this series, but I do have book 1 in my pile...I've heard mixed reviews about it though; should I read it or not?

What cover are you currently lusting for? Tell me, I want to know! Follow the directions above on how to post your own Lusting for Covers, and leave a comment telling me what you think of the cover for Taking Him and Rush?

Enjoy!

Hotties! I am slightly more partial to the first book because I can see the hint to a tattoo. I am an ink slut. Probably a good thing the hubs has none or he would never get to work.

I think I might buy it too when it comes out. Sounds and looks too good to pass up. oops I have to check to make sure I added it on GR. Not all there lately.

The_Book_Queen said...

;) LOL. Ink slut, I may now use that to describe my love of tatts on heroes! Hehe.
Enjoy!

Me, too. That and GR likes to mess with me some days and un-add some of my books. Grrr!
