[Blog Tour]: Guest Post with Delilah Marvelle + Giveaway!

WELCOME TO THE BLOG, DELILAH! :)

Delilah Marvelle is the winner of the Reviewer's Choice for Best Sensual Historical Romance of the Year and had Booklist name her historical romance 'Forever and a Day' one of the TOP 10 Romances of the year. When she isn't writing, she's digging through inappropriate research books that include anything in history having to do with courtesans, brothels, sexual contraptions that were never properly used and other fascinating forms of dirty history that never made it into college textbooks. You can visit her at her website at www.DelilahMarvelle.com

Top 10 Favorite Historical Settings

I’m listing these amazing places from favorite to total orgasma-favorite and adding little facts of history that make these historical settings so fascinating to me. There is a * next to those I’ve actually been to. I’ve already written about some of these cities in my historical romances, but there are others on this list I still plan to write about and why they are included in this list.

*10.) New York, New York City --- Up until 1845, although prostitution itself was illegal, prostitutes could still invoke citizen rights and press charges against men for not paying and/or assaulting them. Such justice wasn’t given to prostitutes anywhere in the world.

9.) Spain, Madrid  --- Napoleon occupied Spain from 1808 to 1814, causing all of Spain’s American colonies to become independent during that time.

8.) Ireland, Dublin --- Bram Stoker wrote Dracula while living in Dublin in 1897.

7.) Italy, Venice --- Napoleon banned Carvinal in 1797 when he seized Venice.

*6.) England, London --- In 1825, London took the lead as being the largest city in history.

*5.) Scotland, Edinburgh --- Following the French Revolution, the King of England allowed the former French King’s youngest brother to live in Hollyrood castle. French aristocracy lived in this British owned castle from 1796 to 1832.

4.) India, Mumbai --- It is historically known as Bombay in the 1800s when the British ruled it.

*3.) Poland, Warsaw --- In 1572 Poland offered complete and total freedom of religion to its citizens during an era when all of Europe was persecuting non-Christian based faiths. It resulted in Poland being the first country to give Jews a freedom never before seen by allowing Jews to even become nobles in a Christian based country. This was why there was such a huge community of Jewish people in Poland which ultimately led to the tragedy of WW2 concentration camps.

*2.) France, Paris --- Prostitution was made legal by Napoleon in the 1800s to control STDs. Prostitution stayed legal until after WW2.

1.) Russia, St. Petersburg --- The Tsar of Russia was godfather to Queen Victoria of England.

Night of Pleasure by Delilah Marvelle
Publisher: Delilah Marvelle Productions, LLC;  (March 15, 2014)
Series: School of Gallantry, 4
Genre: Historical Romance

An arranged marriage is daunting, but not as daunting as seducing a spouse whose passions
you do not understand...

Derek Charles Holbrook, Viscount Banfield, knew his fate since he was seventeen when his
father announced his union to the beautiful but mysterious American girl by the name of Miss
Grey.

To protect the troubled estate, Derek submits to his father's wishes, not realizing he's about to
entangle himself in a hell of a lot more than marriage.

Miss Clementine Henrietta Grey may be worth millions, but not a single coin has ever bought
her a smidge of happiness. When she marries the charasmatic and dashing Viscount Banfield,
whose only strife in life appears to be the uneven seams in his coat, she finds that siring the heir
he wants requires far more than her heart is prepared to give.

Unable to seduce his overly-serious and reluctant wife, Derek realizes his dreams of creating
a loving family has turned into a nightmare. But with the unexpected assistance of a retired
courtesan and her outrageous school, Derek and Clementine discover that passion is a

language spoken not just from the body, but from the mind, heart and soul.

I haven't been to any of the places on the lists, but I have traveled throughout Europe thanks to 2 deployments in the Navy. I am traveling to Scotland next year with my family, so I definitely will be visiting Edinburgh. My hubs was born in Scotland, so he's showing me around.

I always loved Ireland as a historical setting and two that were not on her list that I've been to are; Siracusa, Sicily and Agrigento, Sicily (which as the Temple of Concordia) Two beautiful places that have so much history to them.

Oh, you married a Scot? I'm jealous. I'm very, very jealous. LOL AND you are going to visit Scotland next year? That's it. I'm beyond jealous now! LOL.

Oh, yes, I love Ireland settings; another place I'd kill to see!

Enjoy,

There are so many places to add to that list, for sure!! Sicily is one of the places I'm DYING to visit :) And Edinburgh is amazing. Can't say enough about that city. You'll love it. It's so magical and rich with history. And extra whoo-hoo about your hubby being born in Scotland! The men of Scotland are what romances are made of!

I'll second that! Thank you so much for hosting me!

My husband LOVED Ireland. I haven't been but I hear great things. I have been to Edinburgh, though, and it's just an incredible experience. The people are so friendly and wonderful. Everywhere I went, I felt so welcome!
