[Blog Tour]: Maire Claremont's Dream Cast for "The Dark Affair" + Giveaway!

WELCOME TO THE BLOG, MAIRE! :)

2011 Golden Heart winner Máire Claremont first fell in love with Mr. Rochester, not Mr. Darcy. Drawn to his dark snark, she longed to find a tortured hero of her own… until she realized the ramifications of Mr. Rochester locking his frst wife up in his attic. Discovering the errors of her ways, Máire now looks for a real-life Darcy and creates deliciously dark heroes on the page. Oh, and she wants everyone to know her name is pronounced Moira. Her parents just had to give her an Irish Gaelic name.

The Dark Affair Dream Cast

I always have a little trouble casting my characters because they're unique in my head like friends or people that I know from another place. Its part of being a writer. We're crazy like that, inventing whole other realities! But it's also fun because I get to look at lots of pictures of people, finding who most resembles my hero and heroine. Searching for the hero may be the hardest part. Maybe. All those man chests and brooding eyes. My work is such a burden!

Viscount Powers is tall, massively strong, and has eyes that will cut like diamond. The only fellow I could find that I felt fit the bill? Chris Hemsworth! I love this shot of him. Just like Powers, his hair is a shade to long, and his gaze smolders with what he'd like to do with you.

Lady Margaret Cassidy is that elusive thing, a redhead. She's also a stunner with quite a cheeky sense of humor. While the costume and hair comes from the Georgian period, Romola Garai epitomizes Maggie's nature and beauty in this shot. If you haven't seen the movie Amazing Grace, where this picture is taken from, you must! But those blue eyes, rosey cheeks and slightly saucy look depict exactly how little nonsense Maggie will take from our naughty hero, or at least, she is going to give as good as she gets.

The Dark Affair by Maire Claremont
Publisher: Signet (March 4, 2014)
Series: Mad Passions, 3
Genre: Historical Romance

The Victorian era was full of majestic beauty and scandalous secrets—a time when corsets were the least of a woman’s restrictions, and men could kill or be killed in the name of honor…...
Lady Margaret Cassidy left a life of nobility behind in Ireland, forsaking her grieving homeland to aid war-ravaged men in England. Still, she never expected a cruel turn of fate to lock her into an unwanted betrothal with one of her English patients—much less one as broken and dangerous as Viscount Powers.

Wrecked by his tragic past, Powers’ opiate-addled sanity hangs precariously in the balance, leaving him poised to destroy anyone who dares to utter the names of the wife and child he still so deeply mourns. So when he is forced to marry Margaret in exchange for freedom, he is shocked by the desire to earn her trust, her body, and—most alarming of all—her heart….

Thank you for stopping by today, Maire! :) Looking at hot men all day? Yes, that is a burden! *wink* Thank you for all that horrible, hard work -- I think he's worth it, I'm still scrolling back up to sneak a peek at Chris! I always find dream casts to be fascinating, because it is rare for me to picture the hero or heroine while reading -- a glimpse in my mind here and there, sure, but nothing solid.

Congratulations on your newest release, and may I say your covers are all lovely; I've been eyeing this series since the very beginning!

What do you think of Maire's casting choices? Have you read her books -- do you have a favorite?

Remember, leave a comment and you may win a signed copy of THE DARK AFFAIR!

I never would have picture those two as Powell and Margaret. I do love Romola as an actress and I guess I wouldn't have picture her for the part, because I have seen her as Emma. However, those are pretty good choices.

Thank you so much for having me! I'm still recovering from all that hard work so I'm glad you appreciated it. ;D And I keep sneaking picks at Chris too, to be sure I made the right decision!

He Melody! So glad to see you here. I know what you mean. The characters are specific in my head and Chris and Romola are just already existing versions that I felt were close. Chris is so kind and jolly as Thor, but have you seen Rush? Rawr. He is a sexy devil in that film! He is way closer to James's dangerous character in that film. Thank you so much for stopping and for READING The Dark Affair!

I totally love the two cast. Although I don't know who Romola Garai is, just the pic shows she does fit the role. Her gaze though...like she doesn't care at all! Chris is well...too hot and everything.

I love those two for the lead characters. Chris looks like he could play the part really well. So broody and fierce looking. And I love the costume in the picture of "Lady Margaret."
