[Review]: "Suddenly Last Summer"

Suddenly Last Summer by Sarah Morgan
Publisher: Harlequin HQN (June 24, 2014)
Series: O'Neil Brothers, 2
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Bestselling author Sarah Morgan delivers another irresistible hero in her O'Neil Brothers series who's more tempting than dessert and twice as sinful!

Fiery French chef Élise Philippe is having a seriously bad day. Not only have the opening day plans for her beloved café fallen apart, but Sean O'Neil is back in town, and looking more delectable than ever. Last summer, they shared an electrifying night together…and the memories have Élise really struggling to stick to her one-night-only rule! Her head knows that eventually Sean will be leaving, so all she can do is try to ignore her heart before she spontaneously combusts with lust.

Being back in Vermont—even temporarily—is surgeon Sean O'Neil's worst nightmare. For Sean, returning home to the Snow Crystal Resort means being forced to confront the reasons and the guilt he feels about rejecting his family's rural lifestyle years ago. But discovering that Élise has settled in Vermont and still sets his blood racing is a very welcome distraction! Thinking he can persuade her into a replay of last summer is tempting, but remembering how good they are together is going to make walking away more difficult than he could imagine…

Reviews of Morgan's Previous Books:

Sleigh Bells in the Snow (#1) -- TBQ

My Review:

You may recall that I loved Morgan's previous O'Neil book, Sleigh Bells in the Snow. In fact, it was one of my top reads of 2013. I was excited to get my hands on Suddenly Last Summer. While I loved Elise and Sean's story, I admit I loved Kayla and Jackson's story a bit more.

Elise is a very strong and passionate heroine; I liked getting to know her, and her backstory was heartbreaking.

It took me a bit to warm up to Sean for some reason., but he did make me melt a bit, and I was happy to see him mend things with his family, thanks to Elise's help. Sean helped Elise with her past as well, making for a very sweet romance.

“Has it occurred to you that the reason we get on so well is because we like each other? We make each other laugh. We can't share the same space without wanting to rip each other's clothes off.”

“That is just chemistry.”

“Just?” He listed an eyebrow. “I think about you all the time.”

“That is very normal. Men think of sex every six seconds.”

“In that case I'm in trouble because I'm down to about two seconds. And I'm not talking about sex. I'm talking about you. I think about you every two seconds. The way you laugh, the way you talk, the way you walk. All of it.”

But never fear, the chemistry was very strong and clothes go flying a few times. All in all, a very satisfying read!

I cannot wait for Tyler's book. He captured my attention from the start. I love his wit and jokes. I hope that his story lives up to my expectations. What am I saying? I'm confident in Morgan's ability; I know it will!

Sexy, sweet, and oh so fun, you will fall in love with the O'Neil brothers! Suddenly Last Summer is a perfect beach read, equal parts comfort read with heart and spicy heat.

:D Sean's book is good, but I am dying for Tyler's! Love how he interacts with Jess, and I can't wait for him to finally fall for Brenna.
