[Pat's Review]: "Light Her Fire"

Light Her Fire by Samanthe Beck
Publisher: Entangled: Brazen (October 20, 2014)
Series: Private Pleasures, 2
Genre: Contemporary Erotica/Romance

A sexy category romance from Entangled’s Brazen imprint…

He’ll show this good girl the thrill of being bad…

Good girl Melody Merritt is ready to be bad. Fresh out of an unsatisfying ten-year engagement to the town golden boy, she’s determined to make up for lost time. And who better to burn her sterling reputation to the ground than Bluelick’s sinfully sexy new fire chief whose wicked gaze promises complete and utter domination? Yes, please.

Corrupting the prim and proper Little Miss Bluelick is the most action Josh Bradley’s seen since he transferred from Cincinnati to fast-track his career. He won’t let anything or anyone—not even the delectable Melody Merritt—trap him in this Kentucky-fried Mayberry, but when their searing chemistry yields an unexpected result, he realizes he’s started a blaze that's completely beyond his control…

Pat's Review:

This is a very sexy story with lots of foreplay, heat and dirty talk. It's also funny, romantic and even has a little suspense.

Melody Merritt is fresh from a broken engagement. She had been engaged to her high school sweetheart, Roger, for 12 years.  He finally got the courage to tell her he was gay, and introduced her to his boyfriend Doug.  Melody understood his overwhelming fear of "coming out" so she took the excuses whispered around town and went with it. Prude was the most repeated one. All she knew was that's she's free, 28 years old and finding herself very attracted to the new Fire Chief Josh Bradley.  So much so that she actually propositions him over the produce section in Boone's Market.

Josh Bradley recently transferred from Cincinnati's fire company for the chance to be fire chief in Bluelick, Kentucky.  His chances in Cincinnati for a chief's position were slim, so here he was. He questioned his decision when he realized how quiet Bluelick is, he needed some action and there was Melody Merritt fondling the cucumbers.  "She was a head turner by any standard...a tall refined southern Grace Kelly."  He quickly accepts Melody's challenge and a "tour" of the firehouse and a visit to Melody's job in Dr. Ellie's Swann's office leaves them turned on but out of luck. Melody is not giving up....and Josh is very happy to hear it.  Sexy texts, phone calls and plans are made, and this sizzling adventure begins. Keep a glass of ice water near by .......you'll need it.

A little mystery weaves around this story, random fires set in odd places and quickly reported. Josh suspects arson, but the mayor and other firefighters laugh it off.  Josh won't let it go.  Nor will he let Melody go, but, Mother Nature has plans for them both. I  highly recommend this story if you like your romances with some spice.

Thanks for the review, Pat! :) Between your review, the $0.99 price, and some of the smexy quotes other readers shared on Facebook . . . yeah, I grabbed my copy! Finished it in a day and completely agree with your thoughts on it! Josh is such a dirty talker, which makes me swoon. :D

Have you read Samanthe Beck before? Or do you have a favorite book from the Brazen line?

Enjoy!

Oh man! What an opening scenario! And I love the idea of a hot romance with a firefighter and a bit of mystery. I haven't read her books before, but I might start here. Thanks, Pat!
