a Rafflecopter giveaway

Good luck!

I hope that wherever you are, and however you celebrate, you have a wonderful holiday season!

I'll be spending this weekend trying to finish up all my Christmas shopping, as well as visiting my great-grandma, who broke her hip this week. She's doing better; they were able to operate and replace her hip. She'll be spending a few weeks in a rehab center, but otherwise she's doing pretty damn good, considering she's almost 95!

Enjoy!

Until Next Time,

Christmas preparation has been very busy so, for the holiday/break, I plan to catch up on my reading and reviewing and getting some much-needed quiet time for myself.

You're such a sweetheart. I'm rereading MacKinnon's Rangers Upon A Winter's Night by Pamela Clare. Because why not? :)

The_Book_Queen said...

:) Ooh, sounds like you're in for some happy reading time then. Merry Christmas, Jackie!

The_Book_Queen said...

Amen, Tin, sounds like a perfect plan! :) That's my wish, as well. Whether I manage it or not . . . yeah, that's a different story!

Not really been in a holiday mood this year, it's really strange. Not even watched one Christmas movie on hallmark!! I can't believe it but I just feel a bit like Scrooge or the Grinch. Our family is getting together for holiday breakfast instead of lunch or supper. :) The only Christmas book I have read so far this year is Madeleine's Christmas Wish and it was cute and short. :)

The_Book_Queen said...

*whispers* I'm the same way! Honestly, it's been a few years since I was truly in the holiday spirit.

Wishing you and yours a happy holiday breakfast!

*What are your plans for the holidays? ~morning with husband and afternoon with his family on Christmas day. Then Saturday we'll spend the day with my family. :)
*How about a favorite holiday tradition or even favorite holiday romance? ~Favorite holiday tradition is riding around looking at the Christmas lights at night. :)

Having a Blue Christmas this year as my Mom passed 2 weeks ago. Thanks for the chance.

The_Book_Queen said...

*hugs* I'm so sorry to hear that, Kathy! I know there's not much I can say that will help the pain. But I'm sure she'll be with you and your family in heart and spirit.

The_Book_Queen said...

:) Sounds like a lovely holiday! And there's nothing like looking at the Christmas lights. I love to walk through my neighborhood and enjoy the lights.

My daughter is all grown up and has an almost 2 year old son. So we are going over to her place this year because she wants to cook Christmas dinner instead of having me do it. This should be fun and I get to spend some more time with my grandson.

My holiday plans are to just visit my parents, sister & brother and their families. Other than that, just hanging out at home, definitely reading.

Opal Campbell said...

We will visit family and I am trying my hand at making pecan candy this year :)

The_Book_Queen said...

Oh, I hope it turns out well, Opal! You may have to come back and share a recipe with us :D

The_Book_Queen said...

Ah, sounds like a lovely holiday, June -- reading and family! :)

The_Book_Queen said...

A win-win then! You don't have to cook, you get to visit with your grandson and, of course, the rest of the family! :D

Our family always rotates for host on the big day. Plenty of food and laughs, and always a joyous occasion. ^_^ Another year come and gone, where does the time go!?

cheryl c. said...

I have a tradition of reading nothing but Christmas romances during the holidays. My top favorites have been MISTLETOE ON MAIN STREET by Olivia Miles and MAYBE THIS CHRISTMAS by Sarah Morgan.

The_Book_Queen said...

Ah, lucky! I'm pretty much always stuck hosting for the holidays. Which isn't a bad thing, but for once I wish I could be the one sitting back while someone else did the cooking!

The_Book_Queen said...

I'm so behind on reading this year, I've barely read any holiday romances. *sigh* But I did read Maybe This Christmas and loved it! Loved that entire series, actually, though I think Sleigh Bells in the Snow is my favorite of the three -- just barely. :D

Debbie Haupt said...

Thanks for the great giveaways :) I love the holidays even though they can be crazy, like this Sunday when My husband's family come to the house, picture a mass of unruly people raised in the wilds of Borneo yup Merry Christmas to me LOL. I have many favorite novels too.

The_Book_Queen said...

LOL "picture a mass of unruly people raised in the wilds of Borneo" That sounds like the holidays around here, too! :) Good luck wrangling them all, Debbie.

Thank you so much for the giveaway! Going to be at the In-laws house this year for Christmas and hopefully reading a good Christmas story :)

The_Book_Queen said...

I'm sure they love baking cookies with you -- lucky kids! :) I hope you have a lovely Christmas

The_Book_Queen said...

Oh, any idea what you'll be reading? ;)

Brandi Defries swendt said...

Tomorrow I'll be frantically trying to finish my shopping and wrapping presenuts since working 10-12 hour shifts until Christmas Eve. We're doing the big family thing on Christmas Eve so I have to be ready.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

The_Book_Queen said...

I'm still working on my shopping . . . I have almost nothing right now. Yikes! Good luck with the shopping and wrapping, Glenda, and here's hoping you get a work break soon! :)

Janie said...

Just realized I entered both contests. Please disregard my entries for the INT giveaway.

Anita H. said...

I don't have any big plans other than the usual hanging out with my family but we have a tradition of driving around the city to look at the Christmas light displays every year!

Thanks for the giveaway and Happy Holidays to you!

The_Book_Queen said...

We like to do the same, Anita. Especially up towards what we call "snob hill" in our town; they usually have amazing light displays! :D

Happy holidays!

The_Book_Queen said...

;) Will do

As a reader of your website contents, first of all I congratulate you on the progress of your grandmother's health condition is getting better, I also happy and pray that your grandmother has always given the health and long life, Amen. Ahead of Christmas and New Year is the day-to- day seems best for you so that you really want to share a story well and gifts to the reader. In contrast to my stay in Indonesia, is less festive Christmas celebration here because where I live surrounded by Muslims but even so they are here still have the attitude of tolerance even last year they congratulated Christmas to me and I am happy. Christmas this year it looks like I will not be a holiday and shop as you because I do not have the money: D but after hearing your story that seems to be a good idea, yes I will be on vacation visiting Grandma's house, I do not happen to have long met with grandma. I also really hope so lucky reader at your event giveaway, maybe it will add happiness to me on the day of Christmas, thank you ... merry chrismass!

Sophia Rose said...

Yikes, a broken hip is scary in an elderly person. Glad she's okay! Oh, and the shopping? Better you than me. ;)

We spend the holidays mostly quietly at home, but visit with extended family for the actual day of Christmas doing a potluck style dinner.

I love to read tons of Christmas romances and watch Christmas movies, but our tradition is to watch the Lord of the Rings trio and the new segments of the Hobbit together some time between Christmas and New Years and eat leftovers.

Anita Yancey said...

Our plans for the holidays is just to invite family over to open gifts, and to have a big Christmas dinner. Then maybe watch some holiday movies.

The_Book_Queen said...

Sounds like a perfect Christmas to me, Anita! :)

The_Book_Queen said...

Yeah, it's definitely not a fun thing for her, but we're hoping that with good rehabilitation and physical therapy they can get her back to her pre-break abilities. I didn't get much shopping done today, which means another trip on Monday. *sigh*

Oh, I'm all for a LOTR and Hobbit Holiday! :D We've done that before, as well as an HP marathon.

I'm not sure, but I think I was cheated out of part of my 2014 . . . LOL

The_Book_Queen said...

Thanks, Deni! I hope you have a lovely holiday and good luck!

Ada H said...

Oh wow, glad to hear your great grand-ma's doing ok! 95 is amazing!!

No big plans this year, just a nice quiet Christmas together with the family. Seeing some friends to do a gift exchange and a girls night out. Good times! Have a great Christmas!!

The_Book_Queen said...

Oh, a girls night out is ALWAYS a good plan, especially around the holidays! :D Hope you have a great time, Ada!

Jen Frederick said...

I was supposed to go home yesterday to see my family for Christmas, but not sure if that will happen now. My father-in-law is in the ICU and is definitely not out of the woods yet. So, if he stabilizes soon, I will head to Indiana to spend time with my family, whom I have not seen since Labor Day. I have not had a chance to read any Christmas stories yet. Thanks for the chance to win this awesomely generous giveaway and Merry Christmas.
I started to enter the INT contest before I realized, sorry.

The_Book_Queen said...

Oh no! I hope your FIL gets better soon, Jen! Wishing you and yours a safe and merry Christmas!

Miranda Rcr said...

Melody May said...

Well, I'm hanging out at my inlaws. Pretty darn close you. LOL!

Lori Parks said...

Wasn't sure what I'd be reading when I first commented but now I'm pretty sure I'll be reading Rebecca Zanneti's latest Marked. It's not at all Christmassy like I thought I'd indulge in but it just went live and I've been waiting for it! :)

The_Book_Queen said...

I KNOW. It's no fair; so close, yet so far away! *pouts* Summer, definitely!

The_Book_Queen said...

;) I hope you enjoy it; I've heard some great things about her books, but haven't yet read them. I think I have a few on my Kindle though from when they were on sale.
