[Blog Tour]: Interview with Tracey Alvarez + Giveaway!

WELCOME TO THE BLOG, TRACEY! :)

Tracey Alvarez lives in the Coolest Little Capital in the World (a.k.a Wellington, New Zealand) where she’s yet to be buried under her to-be-read book pile by Wellington’s infamous wind—her Kindle’s a lifesaver! Married to a wonderfully supportive IT guy, she has two teens who would love to be surgically linked to their electronic devices.

Fueled by copious amounts of coffee, she’s the author of contemporary romantic fiction set predominantly in New Zealand. Small-towns, close communities, and families are a big part of the heart-warming stories she writes. Oh, and hot, down-to-earth heroes—Kiwi men, in other words.

When she’s not writing, thinking about writing, or procrastinating about writing, she can be found reading sexy books of all romance genres, nibbling on smuggled chocolate bars, or bribing her kids to take over the housework.

[ARC Review]: "Her Perfect Mate"

Her Perfect Mate by Paige Tyler
Publisher: Sourcebooks Casablanca (May 6, 2014)
Series: X-Ops, 1
Genre: Paranormal Romantic Suspense

When Special Forces Captain Landon Donovan is picked for an assignment with the Department of Covert Affairs, he’s stunned to find his new partner is a beautiful woman who looks like she couldn’t hurt a fly, much less take down a terrorist.

Ivy Halliwell isn’t your average covert op. Her feline DNA means she can literally bring out the claws when things get dicey. She isn’t thrilled to be paired with yet another military grunt, but Landon is different. He doesn’t think she’s a freak and he’s smokin’ hot.

Soon they find themselves facing a threat even greater than anyone imagines...and an animal magnetism impossible to ignore.

Series: Men of the White Sandy, 3
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Nobody Bodine came from a nobody and will always be a nobody. He can disappear into the shadows—no one can see him if he doesn’t want them to. Until Melinda Mitchell shows up on the rez. From the first moment he lays eyes on her, he can tell there’s something different about her. For starters, she’s not afraid of him. She asks where his scars came from, and why he has so many. But more than that, she sees him. For the first time in his life, Nobody feels like a somebody in her eyes.

Melinda has come west to run the new day care on the White Sandy Reservation. She’s intrigued by this strange man and his tattered skin, and when she discovers that he’s a self-appointed guardian angel for the boy in her care, she realizes that there’s more to Nobody than meets the eyes. But how far will he go to keep the boy safe? And will she be able to draw him into the light?

He'd always bet on her, always...

Lark March is over Mason Stewart, so over him she's practically forgotten the cruel way he ended things four years ago. At least that's what she's told her sisters... But when Mason shows up at her best friend's wedding, talking sweet and looking even sweeter, Lark can't deny the man still gets to her in a major way.

Mason Stewart was a messed up kid, but he's a man now, a man who knows what he wants and won't stop until he's convinced the only woman he's ever loved that they are meant to be. He persuades Lark to give him seven days to remind her why they belong together. At the week's end, Lark may tell him to get out of her life for good, but Mason's betting on true love for the win.

But when old secrets come to light, Lark and Mason will find their rediscovered love tested, and happily ever after harder to hold on to than either of them wagered.

[Pat's Review]: "Hard Time"

Hard Time by Cara McKenna

Publisher: InterMix (April 15, 2014)
Genre: Contemporary Erotica

In this all-new novel from the author of Unbound, a woman with a rocky past finds romance in the last place she’d ever expect...

Annie Goodhouse doesn’t need to be warned about bad boys; good sense and an abusive ex have given her plenty of reasons to play it safe. But when she steps into her new role as outreach librarian for Cousins Correctional Facility, no amount of good sense can keep her mind—or eyes—off inmate Eric Collier.

Eric doesn’t claim to be innocent of the crime that landed him in prison. In fact, he’d do it again if that’s what it took to keep his family safe. Loyalty and force are what he knows. But meeting Annie makes him want to know more.

When Eric begins courting Annie through letters, they embark on a reckless, secret romance—a forbidden fantasy that neither imagines could ever be real…until early parole for Eric changes everything, and forces them both to face a past they can’t forget, and a desire they can’t deny.

[Musing Maddie's Review]: "Sex Love Repeat"

Sex Love Repeat by Alessandra Torre
Publisher: Alessandra Torre (November 23, 2013)
Genre: Contemporary Erotica

I love two men. I screw two men. I am in a relationship with them both, and they are both aware there is another. That is all they need to know, that is all I let them know. They don’t need to know a name; they don’t need to know anything but that they are not alone in my heart.

They have accepted the situation. Stewart, because his life is too busy for the sort of obligations that are required in a relationship. Paul, because he loves me too much to tell me no. And because my sexual appetite is such that one man has trouble keeping up.

So we exist, two parallel relationships, each running their own course, with no need for intersection or conflict. It works for us, for them, and for me. I don’t expect it to be a long-term situation. I know there is an expiration date on the easy perfection of our lives.

I should have paid more attention, should have looked around and noticed the woman who watched it all. She sat in the background and waited, tried to figure me out. Saw my two relationships, the love between us, and the moment that it all fell apart.

She hates me.
I don’t even know she exists.
She loves them. I love them.
And they love me.

EVERYTHING else hangs in the balance.

Character Interview with Kate Willoughby!

WELCOME TO THE BLOG, KATE! :)

Kate is in love with the sport of hockey. And the entire Los Angeles Kings team. Having lived most of her life completely uninterested in professional sports, she is surprised at the intensity of her enthusiasm and her growing collection of Kings merchandise:

•a Dustin Brown jersey (signed by Jordan Nolan, Dwight King and Jake Muzzin)
 •an iPhone case
 •two T-shirts
 •three lapel pins
 •a wristwatch and earrings
 •three hats
 •several play-off towels from 2012 and 2013
 •a purple sequined jacket
•a replica Stanley Cup Champions banner
•a car windshield sticker and license plate frame
 and the pièce de résistance...
•a collector card with a swatch of Justin William’s game-worn jersey.

Yeah. Don’t judge her.

She has held a variety of jobs—podiatrist's assistant, telemarketer, typist, gift wrapper, painter, illustrator's assistant, paste-up artist, calligrapher, teacher, transcriptionist and barista—but her favorite by far is author. She resides in Los Angeles with her husband, their two sons, and a Chihuahua named Mochi.

She is also a member of the Romance Writers of America and Los Angeles Romance Authors and winner of the 2009 EPPIE Award for Best Fantasy/Paranormal Erotic Romance.

Kame: I love to discover new authors and recently I read On The Surface by Kate Willoughby. Tim and Erin Hollander are the main characters in the book. Tim is a professional hockey player with the San Diego Barracudas, and Erin is a nurse. Their love story is one of my favorites. As I told Kate they seemed so “real” to me, and people I could be friends with in real life. Today Tim and Erin have welcomed me into their home so we can talk about their story.

[Kame's Review]: "On the Surface"

On the Surface by Kate Willoughby
Publisher: Carina Press (April 14, 2014)
Series: In the Zone, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance -- Sports

NHL player Tim Hollander lost his temper one time and threw a water bottle at an abusive fan. After "Bottlegate," he's traded to the San Diego Barracudas, where he'll need to keep the bad publicity to a minimum while proving he can still compete with the younger guys on the ice.

Erin Collier is a pediatric nurse who's never seen a hockey game, but gets in line for Tim's autograph at a PR event in hopes of impressing the doctor she has a crush on. When an obnoxious fan gets pushy toward Erin, Tim rushes to defend the pretty stranger, throwing a punch in the process.

Grateful for the rescue, Erin agrees to stand by Tim during the resulting press conference and host him at a hospital charity event. Their chemistry is palpable, and soon their lives are intertwined. But Erin doubts a hockey player is capable of anything resembling a real relationship. And if Tim can't get her to see beyond what's on the surface, they'll never last longer than a single season…

Kame: Hi Everyone!
One of the fantastic things about being a Guest Reviewer is I read great books and I get to talk about them.  As you all know I am a HUGE Pamela Clare I-Team fan, read them all and anxiously awaiting the ones yet to be written; but the I-Team opened me up to the world of Audio books.  (Thank you Pat and Colleen!) I have learned not all audio books are equal and to me it all comes down to the narrator – and I must say Pamela Clare has the best narrator in the business; Kaleo Griffith, and today he is here at TBQ's Book Palace!

Hi Kaleo – thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule.
