[Kame's Review]: "Alluring Ink"

Alluring Ink by Ranae Rose
Publisher: Ranae Rose (February 11, 2015)
Series: Inked in the Steel City, 7
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Love is risk. Love is heartbreak. Love is an addiction a single mom like Crystal can’t afford. And accomplished tattoo artist Dylan is a temptation she can’t resist. He’s only in town for a few weeks as a guest artist, but the attraction is instant. With her past shadowing everything she does, it feels good to have someone who doesn’t judge … and doesn’t know.

Love is just the spark before the crash and burn, especially when your demons are something more than standard-issue. Dylan craves Crystal with everything he has, but their days together are supposed to be numbered.

Kame's Review:

Crystal is about to embark on something scary, she is moving out of her brother’s apartment. It will be the first time she and her daughter Emily will be on their own. It has been a hard year rebuilding her life but she is determined not to make the mistakes she has in the past.

I have to say the characters in this series are some of the most artistically talented I have ever read, and I am jealous. Crystal works at a makeup counter and produces a makeup tutorials; which has become the major source of her income. As a woman who strives for a five-minute face I was inspired when she talked about her job.  What was even better was to see Crystal’s growth as a mother. The person we met at the end of book 6 is nowhere close to the person Crystal is in this book. However my favorite part about her character was her unwavering support of Dylan. I am not sure how Ranae Rose has done this but in this series she has created male heroes who just break the mold. They are thoughtful, talented, sexy, and loving. Dylan has lived with his own challenges, and these challenges are what unite Crystal and Dylan. Their connection is deeper than they realize.

I thought book 6 would be the last book in this series and to have this surprise book is a pure gift!  It is filled with the hot scenes Ranae Rose is known for and gave us a look at all the previous characters. This series is sort of like a comfortable sweater for me. I find it easy to go back to the Hot Ink studio and spend time with these characters I have come to love. The plots are always fresh and have a new spin I have never seen anywhere else.

4 STARS!

Hehe, we love hearing that! :) I know Kame's convinced me to buy more than a few (like this series, actually!) so I'm glad I'm not alone.
