Here's my candidate for the week:

Aces High by Kay Hooper
Publisher: Loveswept (October 6, 2015)
Series: Hagan, 11
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Skye Prescott was tall, dark and dangerous, a man who'd never forgotten how Katrina Keller had betrayed him years before...and never stopped hating himself for wanting her still. In a world where survival depended on suspicion, he'd fallen in love--and it had broken him as violence never had. When the beautiful redheaded ghost from his past reappeared in his life, Skye was filled with fury, hurt, a desire for revenge...and an aching hunger to make Katrina burn for him again. Katrina had fought her memories, had tried to heal the pain of losing Skye by building walls around her heart, but once she was in his arms, she couldn't fight him--or her own prima! passion. Skye had marked her once as his, had branded her soul. She was his match, his mate--but belonging to him body and spirit gave him the power to destroy her. Now that Skye faced his most violent enemy, Trina knew the gamble. Could she help her beloved renegade come back alive?

Kame's Pick:

Loving Lucas by Violetta Rand
Publisher: Loveswept (July 5, 2016)
Series: Lies and Leather, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Perfect for fans of Abbi Glines and Monica Murphy, Violetta Rand’s explosive new Lies & Leather series kicks off with a red-hot motorcycle racer who rides hard and plays for keeps.

Twenty-one-year-old Karlie Augustine is a survivor. She’s smart and tough, but she’s in too deep with a bad boyfriend who isn’t above breaking her spirit—or her body. Luckily, help arrives in the form of a leather-clad, motorcycle-riding hunk on the right side of the law. Lucas Lafontaine is pure muscle, a Corpus Christi cop who ignites something primal deep within Karlie. And when he offers her room and board in exchange for housekeeping, she finally starts to feel safe again.

As their arrangement turns deliciously decadent, Lucas gets hooked on Karlie’s killer body and fighting spirit. He wants to heal the pain he sees behind her eyes, but to protect her he needs to keep her close, especially now that her psycho ex won’t take a hint. Even as Lucas fights his own battle for custody of his young son, he knows that what he’s found with Karlie is real—and that he’d do anything to protect the woman he wants to take to the finish line.

Pat's Pick:

Cowboy Valentine by Mia Hopkins
Publisher: Samhain Publishing, Ltd. (August 25, 2015)
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Forget chocolate and flowers. This homegrown honey is all the sweetness he craves.

Small-town life is nothing but a waiting room for eighteen-year-old honor student Corazón Gomez. Work and school leave little time for love, but with a full-ride Ivy League scholarship and a one-way ticket out of the boondocks, who needs it?

The answer appears on Valentine’s Day when her old cowboy crush ambles into the ice cream parlor where she works, inviting her to go on a late-night ride in his truck. For the first time she wavers between staying on the straight and narrow, and going off-road with the handsome heartbreaker.

After four years working on ranches all over the country, Caleb MacKinnon is back on the family farm helping out his mom and brothers while his father fights cancer. The one bright spot: smart, funny, and wickedly sexy Cora.

From the start, they both know this blazing-hot love affair can’t last. But when autumn comes and Cora has to leave for the East Coast, Caleb must find a solution to keep himself—and his heart—from falling apart.

Warning: Contains hard, cherry-poppin’ sex in a pickup truck and a cowboy charmer who talks dirty in two languages.

  5. Definitely; who could resist such a man? :)

I love/hate the rain. We need it, and it's peaceful at times. Hate it when it catches me during a walk though, or when it knocks the power out (like it did last night). :D Yes, I'm taking the summer off. Trying to catch up on blog work before term starts in the fall, but mostly I just want to play lazy for the next few months. :D
