[Pat's Review]: "Cured by Love"

Cured by Love by Stacy Eaton
Publisher: Kindle Worlds (May 18, 2015)
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Dina Greene and Ellie Parker met during their college years and on the night that they meet at NightCaps to reconnect, Dina’s life begins to change. For six years, Dina has closed off her heart, moving from one man to another, trying to feel something other than her own pain and guilt.

Ryan Wilde is a plastic surgeon who strives to give people a better quality of life, especially children. The night he watches Dina leave the bar with another one-night stand, he resolves to offer up a challenge to get her to view herself in a new light.

Little does he know that the challenge will change both their lives, but when Dina’s secret is exposed, will Ryan be able to accept it and trust her, or will Dina go back to her old ways and leave Ryan broken?

Cured by Love is a novel based on the book, Game of Love (The Remingtons, written by Melissa Foster), and part of The Remingtons Kindle World.

Pat's Review:

Dina Greene is running from her heartbreaking past. The only way she gets momentary relief, is meaningless hook-ups with various men. Never the same, never more than once. It's dangerous, demeaning and not helping. On one particular evening, in Nightcaps, her favorite bar, she catches the attention of Ryan Wilde, a local plastic surgeon who is drawn to help her. He issues a challenge to her. Four weeks of dating, no sex and he will prove to her how worthwhile she really is.  He sweeps her off her feet, always there, always kind. They visit museums, take long walks and visit wineries enjoying each other's company.  On one particular night, he actually saves her life. Dina wasn't answering her phone, and Ryan feared she had given up on him, but found her nearly comatose with a possibly rupturing appendix.  Everything changed.

Dina went home to Ryan's and let him take care of her. Her sleep was interrupted by a nightmare that has repeated often and terrifies her and Ryan held her while she cried. To help her, he needed the truth. So for the first time, she told her story.  Their relationship grew and they became even closer, until jealousy reared it's very ugly head and threatened the growing love between them.

This was a very emotional story that also combines characters from Melissa Foster's series The Remington's.  It is a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the author's interview you posted several months ago, but I didn't like Distorted loyalty so much in spite of a very good start. I have yet to read Second shield ;)
