[Kame's Review]: "Hot Ice"

Hot Ice by Lynn Raye Harris
Publisher: H.O.T. Publishing, LLC (January 27, 2015)
Series: Hostile Operations Team, 7
Genre: Romantic Suspense

When fire and ice collide, you get steam…

Grace Campbell leads a privileged life. The daughter of a United States senator, she moves within the social circles of the rich and famous. But Grace is also a scientist, and when someone learns she possesses the knowledge necessary to create a new super virus capable of destroying entire nations, she becomes a target for terror groups and foreign governments alike.

Garrett “Iceman” Spencer didn’t join the Army’s elite Hostile Operations Team to babysit a spoiled rich girl, but when his superiors insist on assigning him to a senator’s daughter as her security detail, he has no choice but to comply.

It’s a shock to find that beneath the glasses and serious scowl, Grace Campbell burns hot. And Garrett, who’s been burned before, suddenly wants to immerse himself in the flames.

Keeping Grace alive—and keeping his hands off her—is a full-time job for this HOT soldier. Failure is not an option…

Kame's Review:

Garrett "Iceman" Spencer is absolutely convinced there is nothing Mendez can't find out. They dug up things in his past he would never tell his teammates and now Mendez is using it to his advantage. His new assignment play bodyguard to a senator's daughter - piece of cake - or should he say cupcake?

Every time I read a HOT book I think the hero of that book is my favorite. Then I read the next book and wow - how can Lynn Raye Harris keep on writing them better and better. I adored Garrett's soft side and his background. And because he has kept so much hidden from his teammates I am looking forward to his growth in future books too. Grace is smart, introverted and no way knows how beautiful she is. I loved her sharp mouth and how it got complimented by "her mother's voice". On the outside they seemed like unlikely lovers but when they let their guard down they were perfect for each other.

I liked the tight plot and we got to meet a few characters that I think we will see in future books. My only issue was I read out of order - now that I have gone back and started the book before this one I am finding I like Garrett even more!

I am going to keep on reading these HOT books for as long as Lynn Raye Harris writes them.

4 STARS!

LOL! I have those series when I can decide which hero is my favorite, too. This pair sound like a lot of fun with his assumption about her and the secrets along with her sass.
