Whatcha Reading? (1)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and we will share our brief thoughts on books that we read during the previous week but will not be reviewing.

June 28th - July 4th:

TBQ:

-- Anticipation by Sarah Mayberry --

The sequel to Satisfaction and we finally get Blue's story. I really enjoyed this book, like all of Mayberry's books it was fun, emotional at times, and sexy. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series, and I would definitely recommend this book. Solid 4 stars.

Favorite quote:

"I have loved you for ten years, Blue, but I never thought I was even close to being worthy of you. I'm still not, but I want to try. I want to be the one who makes you happy. I want to be the one who holds you when you're sad. I want to love you, with everything I've got, instead of just the parts of me that you'll allow. I want in, baby. All the way."

-- Love Lessons by Heidi Cullinan --

I listened to this on audio, and the narrator was great (and I'm very picky about male narrators). The story was great, a friends-to-lovers M/M set in college. Walter and Kelly were adorable together, and their road to HEA was filled with laughs, smiles, emotions, some slight angst in a few spots, and a good dose of steam. I'm looking forward to continuing this series as well, and have the 3rd book for review, thanks to NetGalley. Another book I would recommend, also a solid 4 stars.

Favorite quote:

“Sometimes the ones we love are like butterflies, flitting all over, and we have to sit and wait patiently for them to land. Sometimes they never do, and that’s a risk we take. But sometimes what they need most is to see us sitting still, patient, waiting. To understand that we’re going to be there no matter what, that we’re the ones who are always sitting there waiting, loyal, loving. Sometimes that’s more powerful than any words.”

-- Unfixable by Tessa Bailey --

Oh, I have such a weakness for romances that take place in Ireland, especially contemporaries. I loved Shane, he was the perfect combination of alpha-y goodness without being a jerk. A sexy, fun and very enjoyable read, I was glad to finally see Willa get her HEA. Also a solid 4 star recommendation.

Favorite quote:

“Love comes in many forms. It’s not always sweet. Or comfortable. Sometimes it’s selfish and consuming. Volatile. It makes choices for you. It demands you obey it, not taking no for an answer. And it’s usually right. It knows you better than you know yourself.”

I love the quote from Unfixable!! This seems like a fun meme, I just might join in.

Definitely feel free to join in! :) I highlighted a lot of passages in Unfixable, but that was one of the shorter ones that didn't require a page to set up the quote. :)

Happy 4th, hope you enjoy the day!

I like what you're doing with this feature. Fun to read your quotes.

I am reading a classic right now, Poldark by Winston Graham. So far so good.
