Herons Landing by JoAnn Ross
Publisher: HQN Books (June 1, 2018)
Series: Honeymoon Harbor, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance

There’s no place to fall in love like the place you left your heart

Welcome to Honeymoon Harbor, the brand-new, long-awaited series by beloved New York Times bestselling author JoAnn Ross, where unforgettable characters come face-to-face with the kind of love that grabs your heart and never lets go.

Working as a Las Vegas concierge, Brianna Mannion is an expert at making other people’s wishes come true. It’s satisfying work, but a visit home to scenic Honeymoon Harbor turns into a permanent stay when she’s reminded of everything she’s missing: the idyllic small-town charm; the old Victorian house she’d always coveted; and Seth Harper, her best friend’s widower and the neighborhood boy she once crushed on—hard. After years spent serving others, maybe Brianna’s finally ready to chase dreams of her own.

Since losing his wife, Seth has kept busy running the Harper family’s renovation business and flying way under the social radar. But when Brianna hires him to convert her aging dream home into a romantic B and B, working together presents a heart-stopping temptation Seth never saw coming. With guilt and grief his only companions for so long, he’ll have to step out of the past long enough to recognize the beautiful life Brianna and he could build together.

Pat's Review:

A delightful contemporary romance set in the Pacific Northwest! Brianna Mannion has decided to prove you can go home again. Leaving the glamorous and exhausting life as an elite concierge for luxury hotels, she is headed home to Honeymoon Harbor and a dream she finally hopes to make come true: turning a rundown mansion, Heron’s Landing, into a B and B.

Seth Harper runs Harper Construction with his dad, and their specialty is Restorative Construction. Seth was widowed two years ago when his wife, an Army Nurse, was killed in an attack on the hospital where she worked. Living in a small town, it’s hard to avoid the memories and people that were such a part of his and Zoe’s life, but he can’t imagine leaving. Lately his life has been a little crazy, his parents have separated, he’s rushing to get a home finished for friends Kylee and Mae before their wedding and baby arrives. The return of Brianna, Zoe’s best friend, stirs all kinds of emotions he’s not sure what to do with.

Brianna has had a crush on Seth since first grade. He always treated her like the little sister of his best friends, and she figured when they hit high school, maybe she could make him see her. But then Zoe Robinson moved to town and stole his heart. It was okay though, since Brianna and Zoe became best friends. She missed Zoe with all her heart, but returning to town and seeing Seth stirred those old feelings to life. Their friendship turns a little deeper after spending time together, and promises a lot more.......but Seth can’t get past the fear of loving someone and losing them again. He knows he has to let it go, he does love Brianna with all his heart. Letting her walk away is nearly as painful as losing her.
