Oh, and I fell down the rabbit hole of adding a game to my Kindle Fire and have spent the last few days playing said game more often than reading. Oops. *shrugs* I guess my brain just needs the mindless fun right now so who am I to argue with that? (Game is Cooking Craze, btw.)

What I Read:
A Fashionable Indulgence by KJ Charles
4 Stars✦ Harry is suddenly the heir to a fortune
✦ But he needs to be turned into a proper gentleman first
✦ Enter Julius, who was asked to be Harry's mentor for that
✦ But the two are kinda interested in doing some not-very-gentlemanly things to each other ;)
✦ Pretty damn hot, though I was a bit disappointed that one of their firsts (Julius topping) was not on page. Ah well, I'll survive, I'm just greedy!
✦ An interesting cast of characters; definitely can't wait to read some of their stories next!
✦ Deals with a lot of politics (of the time). Which isn't a bad thing, and I'm firmly a pro "romance/all writing is and should be political". But I totally admit that some of the politics going on were a bit lost on me. *shrugs* It's all good. It was a big part of the story and many of the characters, so it's not like it could be cut out.

After We Fall by Melanie Harlow
4 Stars✦ Dual 1st POV
✦ Rich city girl who owns a PR firm
✦ Widowed, grumpy veteran, now farmer
✦ She’s working with his brothers to help the farm grow
✦ A+ dirty talk. The sex scenes may only be a page or so each, but damn, they're still hot! As are all the kisses, really. And the tension.
✦ Quite fun and just an enjoyable read!
✦ Tons of grief, guilt, etc. He also has PTSD. (He does go back to therapy in the end, which I appreciated.)
Seriously, most of my thoughts on this book can be summed up by listening to the Heaving Bosom's podcast for this book. Erin and Melody are so fun, period, but especially the discussion on dripping jizz in a guy's truck. Just trust me, okay? And go listen to this episode. You'll want to subscribe and glom the previous episodes, too. :)

Soft on Soft by Em Ali
3 Stars✦ Fat queer girls in love -- yes, please, more! Body positive, lovely descriptions of fat bodies
✦ Middle Eastern pansexual makeup artist (with anxiety -- can relate)
✦ Black demisexual model/actress
✦ Low conflict and heat (only one scene, which shows up at the very end of the book)
✦ Overall: just a very quick and cute read
✦ Again, I am sooo here for more fat MCs!
✦ Do wish the editing had been stronger on this one -- I was distracted by a lot of errors and kinda confusing sentences. UPDATE: Em has since pulled the file down to have it re-edited
✦ BUT Em's voice has a lot of potential and I'd try another book :)
