Guest Post with Erin McLellan: Bi/Pan Romance Recs + Excerpt

Erin McLellan's newest M/M romance, CLEAN BREAK, releases tomorrow. To celebrate, Erin's got some recommendations for her favorite bi/pan romances. There's also an excerpt from the book, and a giveaway at the end! :)

Bisexual/Pansexual Character Book Recommendations

Welcome to the blog tour for Clean Break, a m/m college romance between two men whose life plans are taking them in opposite directions. This story is sweet, slightly angsty, and a little kinky. I’m so excited to share a bit about my new release with you. There’s also a giveaway at the end of the post!

Maybe it’s the former-librarian in me, but one of my favorite things to do is recommend books. What better way to celebrate my new release, Clean Break, which has a delightful bisexual cinnamon roll character in Connor, than to tell you about some of my favorite romances with bi and pan main characters. One of the reasons I love these books so much is that the characters’ bisexuality/pansexuality is not a major conflict point.

Fly with Me by Hudson Lin

This m/f romance novella is about two flight attendants, Vivian Ng and Marco Chang, who meet on the job and fall in love while flying around Europe. Marco is bisexual and open about it. Also, don’t read this book on an empty stomach! The food descriptions are delicious.

A Boy Called Cin by Cecil Wilde

This story about a trans college student, Cin, and a genderqueer billionaire, Tom, who are both bisexual, is a sexy, tropey, super queer romance. It has a bit of a Cinderella vibe with an age gap trope.

Wrong to Need You by Alisha Rai

The second book in the Forbidden Hearts series has the best shy hero, Jackson Kane, and amazing queer heroine, Sadia Ahmed. Sadia’s late husband was Jackson’s brother, so there is definitely a forbidden romance going on.

Tight Quarters by Annabeth Albert

This m/m military romance between pansexual Navy SEAL, Bacon, and embedded journalist, Spencer, is exciting, passionate, and fast-paced. Their goals are at cross-purposes, which makes for hard earned and satisfying HEA.

Outside the Lines by Anna Zabo

This polyamorous romance is about Simon, Ian, and Lydia. Simon is bisexual and has an open marriage with Lydia. Ian is gay. This story is about Simon and Ian falling in love, as well as the three characters forming a family together. Ian and Lydia’s relationship, while platonic, is just as important as Simon and Ian’s. This is such a refreshing, sexy, and realistic look at polyamory.

In Her Court by Tamsen Parker

This adult summer camp f/f romance between Willa, who’s bisexual, and Van, who’s a lesbian, is steamy, nerdy, and fun. It’s also employs the brother’s best friend trope to great effect. The perfect summer romance novel.

The Pick Up by Allison Temple

This small town m/m romance between Kyle, who is bi, and his daughter’s teacher, Adam, is a quirky, charming, slow burn debut. It has one very goofy character and one straight-lace, reserved character, which is my catnip.

The Princess Trap by Talia Hibbert

This m/f contemporary romance goes from a would-be one-night-stand to a fake engagement to a prince! I love the dynamic between Prince Ruben and Cherry, as well as the way Ruben’s bisexuality is handled. This tropey, super sexy romance is a modern day fairytale.

Clean Break by Erin McLellanExcerpt

“I’ve never done this before,” he whispered, stroking his thumb down my crack through my briefs. “I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“What feels right?”
I wasn’t sure if that made any sense, but my brain was full of static. I wasn’t with it enough to have this conversation coherently, not if he kept touching my ass like that.
He hummed and kneeled beside me on the bed, caressing and squeezing my butt until my eyelids drooped shut from the attention. I was practically purring.
As my body went boneless, he brought his hand down hard onto my left ass cheek. I gasped, a piercing sound that was as loud as his palm hitting my flesh. Then I thrust against the bed as the heat from his slap spread through me.
“Oh. Wow.” His voice was so awed that I almost rolled over so I could see it mirrored on his face, but before I could move, he spanked me again.
I shuddered and let him at me. He played for a while, alternating between spanking me lightly and gripping my ass, testing it like he was examining a piece of fruit at the grocery store. It made me feel dirty, but in the best possible way.
My briefs held the warmth from each smack close to my skin, and within minutes, I was humping the bed. Spanking usually made me hot, made me have to fight orgasm if my dick was touching literally anything at the same time. I craved it. The sharpness of the sting as it spread on my skin, the sound, the lift and jiggle of my ass—it all coalesced into one perfect moment.
So close.
“Don’t come yet,” he warned.
“I won’t.” Damn. Talk about a promise I wasn’t sure I could keep.
His hand came down with more force, right on the crease of my ass and thigh, and I ripped his bedding off the corner of the mattress. The pain knocked something loose in me, and I fell into that shiny place I craved but rarely reached, where everything was amplified.
“Harder. Connor, oh fuck.” He wasn’t giving me a break now, and I started to babble, my breath hitching. “So good. So good . . . Connor. Oh fuck, I want you so bad . . . Hated seeing David with his hands on you . . . Hated when he almost made you smile . . . Harder.”
