[Kame's Review]: "The Cowboy's Valentine"

The Cowboy's Valentine by Donna Alward
Publisher: Harlequin (February 3, 2015)
Genre: Category Romance -- Contemporary

HEART OF A COWBOY

Coming home is hard enough without ranch manager Quinn Solomon making Lacey Duggan feel like an unwanted guest. She's only here until she figures out what to do with her one-third ownership of Crooked Valley. But Quinn's irresistible daughter is giving Lacey ideas about being part of a family. And though they don't even like each other, Lacey's having crazier notions about the widowed single dad.

Does Lacey think she can waltz in and turn Quinn's life upside down…only to leave again? The pretty accountant knows nothing about running a ranch, yet she's making the Montana homestead feel like a home. Quinn isn't looking for love again. Until a woman who's all heart and a determined little girl help one lovestruck cowboy see the light.

Kame's Review:

Lacey needs to start all over. She never thought her life would come to this but she also never thought she would have the triple whammy - lose her job, husband and dream all within months. Now she is at a ranch she and her brothers have inherited, unfortunately the ranch comes with the ranch manager Quinn who is less than impressed with her.

Lacey got hurt badly by her ex-husband, and I sort of wished her brothers could have had "words" with Carter. I can understand the level of pain she feels and why she does not share it with family or friends. She has a heart of gold and I think she just blossomed with Amber and helping take care of her. I also understood Quinn's pain and adored his quiet moments with his daughter as well.

By the title you would think this book completed by Valentine's Day, but that is not the case. The holiday is special to the plot, but anyone can read this book anytime of the year. It is an easy to read book, nothing that will keep you pondering plot points all night long. It was a perfect read for me on a night where insomnia kept me awake. It was a comfortable intimacy kept behind doors romance that had characters that peaked my interest. I will definitely be looking for the book that went before this one and the one after.

4 1/2 STARS!

It looks very good, like a book I would like to read comfortably under a cover on the sofa by a cold winter day :)
