About

About TBQ's Book Palace:

I started the blog in June of 2008. Over the years, it has grown and the design has changed a bit. I've added new types of posts, guest reviewers, and even a new genre or two.

TBQ's Book Palace is all about romance novels, across various heat levels and sub-genres. While I, and my reviewers, occasionally read outside of the genre, and may sometimes talk about a non-romance novel in passing, the blog ONLY covers romance novels for review, author posts, etc.

Love the blog and want to help support it? You can do this a few different ways:

Meet TBQ:

Reader, reviewer, blog owner -- I'm the one in charge of it all!

By the tender age of 10, I discovered romance novels. The rest is, as they say, history.

I'm a small-town girl living in the middle of nowhere Utah. Trust me when I say that without romance novels, this blog, and the romance community, I would be a far different person -- and not in a good way.

My TBR Mountain is permanently out of control and will be that way until the day I die. I’ve learned to accept this . . . especially as I casually add five more to said mountain.

I’m told by many that I’m a bad influence – both because of my dirty mind and my habit of recommending new book to other readers. You've been warned...

While I post here on the blog almost daily, in some capacity of another, I’m almost constantly on social media, most especially Twitter. Feel free to stop by and chat – you never know what crazy things I’ll be tweeting about. But I can guarantee it’s never boring! Oh! And I tend to share a shit ton of quotes there while I’m reading.

If you have a question to ask me, or you wish to just say "Hi", feel free to contact me!

Current Reviewers

Meet Chelsea:

I believe our lives are made of stories. Which is why, when I'm not busy reading and editing science fiction, fantasy, young adult, romance, and short fiction of any genre, I'm writing in any and all of the above categories! And because, truly, when you're obsessed you're obsessed, I also spend a couple of hours every few weeks with my best friend, creating our book-and-fandom media podcast, Not Now, I'm Reading!

Meet Jen:

I've been reading romance ever since I was in middle school and found a bag of remaindered romance novels in my Grandma's basement. 30 years later, and I'm still happy to read about people falling in love.

Meet Kat:

I am a feminist academic with a 2-3 romance novel a week habit.  I love reading stories about people falling in love, preferably with a good dose of sexytimes.  My favorite genres are queer romance, historical romance, and erotica, and I love finding books that fit all three categories!

Meet Melinda:

I'm Melinda and if I don't read a few hours a day it makes me anxious. Romance makes up about 90% of my reading and I'm a sucker for excellent world-building. Basically HEA or GTFO.

Meet Pat:

I am a retired pediatric nurse living in coastal North Carolina. Being retired I get to do one of my favorite things .....READ..... I love to read and talk about books, and my reviews are my voice. I also volunteer at our Public Library a few days a week.

Meet Sarah:

As an avid romance reader, I got the habit from the women in my family. Since I was in middle school, my grandmother, mom, aunts, and I would read and swap romance novels.  After you finished a book you put your initial on the inside cover (to keep track of who had read what book) and passed it along. Now I organize my reading with a google doc and my superpower is book recommendations!

Meet Kame:

Kame is part of a family of readers; one day she picked up the Nook she purchased for her husband and discovered her love of e-books. A few months later he purchased one for her so he could have his back! Kame’s Nook is never far, and she is hard pressed to pick a favorite book, genre or author. As long as there are characters that make her want to sit down and have a chat and a plot keeps the pages turning, she’ll read it.

Meet Musing Maddie:

Musing Maddie is an avid reader, who mainly devours all things romance. She loves series, but only when the story warrants a few books rather than one. A strong, intelligent female with a bit of sass and wit is the preferred heroine in the books she reads, and some sizzle between the sheets is welcome too. Well, ok...more than welcome! Well, not just between the sheets is just fine too! She’s from Down Under, so her humor is on the crazy side. Captivating storylines, with well developed plot and yes, hot, hunky Heroes, is definitely a preference, but she loves it when the characters are damaged, and their story brings hope and restoration. Yes please to HEAs!
