Whatcha Reading? (16)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and we will share our brief thoughts on books that we read during the previous week but will not be reviewing.

October 11th - 17th:

-- One Night of Sin by Elle Kennedy --

A decent read. I can't point out anything amazing or horrible. It just was. But that's okay, I wasn't really looking for anything more at the time. I just needed a sexy, easy read, and that one delivered on that account. 3 STARS

-- Hard Evidence by Pamela Clare -- [Audiobook]

Another great book by Clare, and Kaleo does a wonderful job narrating it. The only problem I had was with Tessa. I get that she's very invested in her job (an investigative journalist) but she wouldn't listen to Julian the many, MANY times he told her to leave this case alone, that she didn't understand just how much shit was involved with the case and that her messing around was not only going to blow the entire thing up, sending the bad guy into hiding, but no doubt end with her dead as well. And yet she kept pushing, sneaking around and asking questions and . . . GAH. For the most part, I liked Tessa well enough. But during these (many) moments through the book, she was tipping into TSTL heroine, at least for my tastes.

That being said, it was an entertaining listen, and very sexy, too. 4 STARS

*NOTE: Kame reviewed this one in 2012. You can read her full review HERE.

Favorite quote:

“I’m half Italian.”

“Which half?” the words were out before Tessa could stop them. Was she flirting with him? She never flirted with men.

His lips curved in a slow, sexy smile that made her heart trip. “From the waist down.”
