*Note: The novella Pat received for review was originally published in this anthology (below). I believe it will republished as a solo, but until that time the only way to read it is if you buy the entire anthology.*
Where to Buy*:
Tangled is a short story included in the anthology Hot Alphas with Lora Leigh, Laurelin McGee, Shiloh Walker and Ms. Douglas. This is a romantic suspense, first in a series set in the wine country of California. Ms. Douglas is an award winning author of paranormal erotic novels, but I personally love her contemporary romance.
Cassie Phillips is the winemaker for Tangled Vines Dry Creek Winery. This winery is supposed to be her legacy, but her father's failing health and unfortunate investments caused the property to almost go into bankruptcy. It was bought by an up and coming investor who is keeping Cassie on as winemaker, but the house and grounds, including her home are owned by the buyer. For now she is living in a cottage on the property and visiting her Dad in an assisted living facility, while continuing her first love, wine making.
Nate Dunagan is the new Vineyard Manager hired by Marcus Reid, the buyer. He arrives at the vineyard in the dark, with a dead cell phone and a locked gate. Rescued by Cassie they share a pizza, wine and long conversation and they are deeply attracted. Cassie has "morning after" concerns, her life is too complicated. Nate wants to prove her wrong.
A very satisfying story, with suspense, danger and very old secrets. Not to mention hot romance! A perfect introduction to the new series.
