Whatcha Reading? (38)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and we will share our brief thoughts on books that we read during the previous week but will not be reviewing.

March 13th - 19th:

TBQ:

-- Unlawful Contact by Pamela Clare -- [Audiobook]

Honestly, pretty close to 4 1/2 stars. I think my only issue was with Sophie's VERY quick decision that she wanted to give Hunt the baby he could never have.

Otherwise, another fantastic read from Clare, who knows how to write not only great suspense and action, but sexy as hell romances, too! And, as always, Kaleo does an amazing job as the audiobook narrator. 4 Stars

-- Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts --

There's something very comforting about reading a NR book. For one thing: competence porn.

My only complaint: I don't think Jack really groveled enough after their fight, and the quick jump to a proposal, which seemed to magically fix everything. 4 Stars

Favorite quote:

Romance, in Emmaline’s opinion, made being a woman special. Romance made every woman beautiful, and every man a prince. A woman with romance in her life lived as grandly as a queen, because her heart was treasured.

-- Sunset Park by Santino Hassell --

Another fantastic book from Hassell; honestly, close to a 4 1/2 for me. David and Raymond were great together. Fairly high angst before their HEA. Extremely hot. Plenty of snark and sarcasm. Highly recommend this series, I adore Santino's writing. 4 Stars

Favorite quote:

If being an adult amounted to spending my life doing miserable shit just to get by, I wanted a rain check.

[Same, Raymond, SAME.]
