[Blog Tour -- Author Interview]: Elizabeth Varlet + Giveaway!

WELCOME TO THE BLOG, ELIZABETH! :)

Elizabeth Varlet is a nerd at heart and spends way too many hours binging on episodes of her favorite television shows. If you love Doctor Who, Supernatural, Stargate, Star Trek, Sherlock, or Firefly you are already her best friend.

She started writing stories in high school and hasn’t stopped. Now, her characters like to get frisky under the covers – or the stars, they’re not picky. She’s a thirty-something, newly married, world traveler who devours books like they were candy.

Where to Find Elizabeth:

TheBookQueen: What inspired the idea for Sassy Boyz?

Elizabeth: No one thing inspired the Sassy Boyz but choreography videos certainly helped. I remember watching Yanish Marshall and Brian Friedman’s version of Breath On Me and I was instantly captivated. Anyone who can watch that and not think it is sexy must have something wrong with them.

TBQ: What do you love most about Ansel? How about Fitch?

E: I love Ansel so much. I love his witty comebacks and courage. I love how he’s not afraid to be himself. I love how he’s willing to fight for what he wants even if the thing he needs to fight is himself.

Fitch is just a dream. He’s so stable and loving and loyal. I mean, who wouldn’t fall in love with him? Right?

TBQ: What part of Fierce and Fabulous was the hardest to write?

E: There were a number of difficult things for me, but one of the hardest was Ansel’s issues with alcohol. I’ve known a few alcoholics but it’s different being inside their mind. I really had a tough time getting that nailed down and I know it’s still not perfect. It is a disease that is so individual, though, so it was important for me to tell Ansel’s story, not a general version. This is how Ansel dealt with it, this is how Ansel moved on. It may not be the same for everyone.

TBQ: If Ansel had a personal theme song that best captures him, what would it be? How about Fitch?

E: LOL! Ansel’s is Britney Spears – Work BitchI listened to that song so much while I was writing Fierce and Fabulous because it got me into his head during those scenes where he has to be strong and determined.

Fitch is more difficult. He’s quite subdued. I think Phillip Phillips sound really fits Fitch and the song Home is perfect for his protectiveness.

TBQ: If there's one thing you hope readers take away from this book, what is it?

E: Our differences don’t matter, as long as we love and love with all our hearts

TBQ: So, so true! Thanks, Elizabeth!

Fierce and Fabulous by Elizabeth Varlet
Publisher: Carina Press (June 27, 2016)
Series: Sassy Boyz, 1
Genre: M/M Romance

The first book in a scorching new male/male series by Elizabeth Varlet. Behind the Sassy Boyz's seductive smiles and sinful dance moves are desires that will leave readers breathless.

Fitch Donovan never thought a lap dance could change his life, but from the moment the gorgeous dancer’s lips touch his, his world comes screeching to a halt. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t shake the desire that rocks him to his core. He’s longed for this passion all his life—he just never dreamed he’d find it with another man.

Sharing a soul-shaking kiss with a straight boy is the kind of drama Ansel Becke just doesn't need. Spotlights aren't made for two and Ansel prefers to keep things on a one-night-only basis. So when Fitch shows up asking for an encore, Ansel knows he should send his gorgeous ass packing.

Though Ansel tries to pretend that what's between him and Fitch is far from fabulous, there's something about the big, burly contractor that makes Ansel's world sparkle in a way no amount of glitter ever could. And Fitch will do whatever it takes to convince Ansel that when the thing you need most in the world falls right into your lap, you’d be a fool to let it go.
