Whatcha Reading? (68)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and I will share my brief thoughts on books that I read during the previous week.

Sun - Saturday:

TBQ:

-- The Goal by Elle Kennedy --

I admit I was a bit worried about getting Sabrina's story, but I was pleasantly surprised. I could definitely relate to her quite a bit, though I did sometimes give her serious side-eye for always pushing Tucker away. In the end, it worked out though, and I loved this book, like I have the entire series. I'd say this one was *slightly* lower than the last two for me, but still an amazing read that I hated putting down (damn life for getting in the way!). So fun and sexy, some angst and drama. Could be read as a standalone, but highly recommend the entire series. I'm sad to see this is the last book but there will be a spin-off, which makes me happy, and Fitzy better get his story there! 4.25 Stars

My goal, once upon a time, was to succeed. I didn’t realize that success wasn’t grades or scholarships or achievements, but the people I was lucky enough to have in my life.

-- Be With Me by J. Lynn -- [Audiobook, Library]

I really enjoyed this one, a bit more than book 1 (which I still liked). My only issues were in the first, maybe 20%?, when Jase kept pushing Teresa away, but overall a great read! Very sexy, but also sweet, and with some fun moments through out. It's not all light though, as Teresa and Jase have their pasts, and Teresa's roommate is killed (trigger warning for talk of possible suicide). I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. 4 Stars

Narrator: Sophie Eastlake did a great job, I have no real complaints about her narration. I'll definitely be listening to more from her. 4 Stars as well.

“What?” I shrieked and slapped his chest again.

“Ouch.” He rubbed the spot. “Does it disturb you that I’m kind of getting turned on right now?”

I shook my head. “Seriously?”

“Maybe?” he murmured, dipping his head and causing the ends sticking out from under the skullcap to sway. “I’m pretty erect right now to be honest.”

“Oh my God . . .” I rubbed my hand over my hot cheek.

”Want to smack me again? You could try my ass. I’ll probably like that.”

I stared at him.

A bit of a slow week, which is nothing new. Loving Reisz's book (out next week), should have a review up Monday. If I happen to finish it today, I'll probably start Hassell's upcoming book.

So what are YOU currently reading?

Enjoy!
