Pat's Review: In Too Deep

In Too Deep by Kimberly Kincaid
Publisher: Kimberly Kincaid (October 17, 2017)
Series: Station Seventeen, 3
Genre: Contemporary Romance w/ Suspense

As Station Seventeen’s rookie, Luke Slater knows his fire and EMS training will be both rigorous and risky, but he never imagined having to partner up with the one woman he wants to keep at arm’s length most of all. Quinn Copeland is as wide-open as Luke is reserved. He has no interest in letting the sweet and sexy paramedic rock his hard-earned control. But the need for composure becomes the need to survive when they find themselves in the crosshairs of a brutal gang leader on their first shift together.

Paramedic Quinn Copeland’s station mates aren’t just her friends. They’re her family. She’d do anything to keep them safe—including reluctantly trusting her impossible-to-read, impossibly gorgeous new partner with the one thing she holds close. As the passion between Luke and Quinn goes from a slow burn to a sizzle, their steps grow more and more dangerous, both in the fire house and out. Can they outwit a cold-blooded killer and face the fears that could cost them everything? Or are they in too deep?

Pat's Review:

This is Book 3 in the Station Seventeen Series, it can be read as a standalone, but the stories and characters in Book 1 & 2 are sexy and exciting and it would be a shame not to read them as well.

Luke Slater is a rookie firefighter who has completed his EMS training as well. He has a promising future and he loves being a firefighter. Luke is a pretty quiet guy, but all the other firefighters think he is a good match for Station Seventeen. Luke has hope of becoming a paramedic and riding the ambulance someday, meanwhile enjoying his time studying and training.

Quinn Copeland and Carter Drake are partners and work the ambulance. They have been together for five years and work together seamlessly. After a serious injury to his hand due to faulty equipment, Carter is out for a few weeks to heal. Much to Quinn’s surprise, Luke is assigned to drive with her while Carter is on leave. A thrill for him, but Quinn realizes it’s going to be tough to keep her attraction to him to herself. Little does she know that Luke is fighting the same battle.

After an ambulance call goes terribly wrong, together to must keep a dangerous secret that could endanger lives, and try to keep each other safe. Of course, their attraction heats up. The suspense is thrilling and the heat between them blazes.

As always the friendships, good-natured bantering, and camaraderie are enjoyable. It’s great to revisit all the characters from the previous novels and see what they’re up to. In Too Deep is a very exciting read.

4 STARS!
