Guest Post from Annabeth Albert + Excerpt and Giveaway!

You already know that I adore Annabeth Albert's books, and that's true of her newest release, Wheels Up. Today I have Annabeth on the blog with a Top 5 post for you all, plus a super sexy excerpt from the book and a giveaway at the end! ðŸ˜ƒ

Top Five Action Heroes

I’m so excited to celebrate the release of my latest military romance, Wheels Up, which is book 4 in my out of uniform series, but stands alone well. I love the military romance genre, and I thought it would be fun today to talk about some of my favorite action heroes both in TV, movies, and books. Do you have favorites? Please share in the comments! And if you have military romance recs in all subgenres, I’m always all ears!

1) Captain Steve Hiller (Will Smith) in Independence Day. This 1996 movie will always be a favorite for me because of the way it manages to blend humor with action. Will Smith is awesome at portraying heroes with just a little bit of crazy in them, and he’s at his best here. I love a hero who can both make me laugh and save the day. I also like that his character is willing to listen to others and work together to save the world.

2) The Flash. The Flash doesn’t get enough love among the superhero genre, and I love him for the same reason I love Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) in Wonder Woman. Both Barry Allen and Steve Trevor are more beta heroes--they are content to let their partners and other heroes shine and save the day. They are great at being part of a team and ensemble and don’t always have to be the in-charge alpha strutting around. I’m particularly fond of the Flash’s ensemble cast, and Barry is savvy enough to know when to rely on his fellow superheroes and when to ask for help. And he’s loving and deeply devoted and not afraid to show it--all qualities I really admire.

3) Ssgt. Michael Nantz (Aaron Eckhart) in Battle Los Angeles. Okay, I know, this movie got widely panned. I loved it though. You’ve got a squadron of marines who are the last, best hope against an alien invasion. It’s a military buddy movie with the action and drama of aliens. I love the interaction between the whole marine team in this movie, and the team aspect is something I love capturing in my SEAL books a lot. Nantz is a great hero because he’s brave and doesn’t back down, even in horrific odds.

4) Ken “Wild Card” Karmody, Out of Control by Suzanne Brockmann. I had to work hard to not make this list “Annabeth’s Top 5 Brockmann Heroes.” I love them all, and it was hard to narrow down to my absolute favorite of all her SEALs. I love Kenny because he’s such a great foil for Savannah who is a self-rescuing heroine--she’s not going to stand by and let Kenny save the day while she watches. The two of them learning to be a team makes for such an awesome romance. Kenny is a great Alpha/Beta blend--he’s not totally take-charge and dominant, but he’s also highly competent and a total badass when he needs to be.

5) Daniel Moore, Back Piece by LA Witt. I adore LA Witt’s LGBTQ military romances and this series where she blends tattoo artists and military co-heroes is so enjoyable and sexy. Daniel is one of my all-time favorite virgin heroes, and I love how he slowly discovers himself through the course of the book. Eventually, he’ll be an in-control alpha sailor, but we get to go along his journey with him, and to me, that’s intensely rewarding.

I love so many other military and superhero characters that it was hard to narrow it down to just these few! Please do tell me about your favorites, and I hope you check out Wheels Up

Wheels Up by Annabeth Albert
Publisher: Carina Press (November 7th, 2017)
Series: Out of Uniform, 4
Genre: M/M Romance

Their love is forbidden, but their hearts aren't listening to rules and regulations.

Lieutenant Dustin Strauss is a reformed man. No longer a twentysomething hell-raiser, he's his SEAL team's new XO-and a man with a secret. Or seven. He's kept his bisexual identity under wraps for years, along with his kinky side and a fondness for the military-themed semianonymous hookup website Joe4Joe. His latest chat buddy is more than a sexy online distraction-they're taking their very not-safe-for-work relationship into real time.

Petty Officer Wes Lowe has a smart mouth, a take-charge attitude and an uncanny ability for making things go boom. The life of an enlisted man isn't always enough to satisfy him, but one wild, no-questions-asked weekend with his online love comes close. When a transfer order comes in, Wes feels ready and centered. He'll make a good impression on his new SEAL team and keep his growing feelings for Dustin on the down low.

But as they log more time online and some very real emotions surface, Dustin and Wes struggle to pretend they're just a harmless fling. And when his commander introduces Dustin to his team's newest member, they're in for the shock of a lifetime...and a crushing disappointment: their difference in ranks means even a friendship without sexual contact could end their navy careers for good.

With their hearts on the line, Dustin and Wes may not survive their next mission, let alone find a way toward a future together.

Wheels Up Excerpt:

He’d seen Wes’s chest before on camera, but the camera was fuzzy, missing key details like how Wes’s nipples were the exact color of Dustin’s favorite butterscotch toffee and how his collar bones looked made for biting. And the camera had never captured the force of Wes’s stare, the way he seemed to see past Dustin’s soul to his most secret of desires.
“Think you could get your cock out for me?” Wes’s voice was as seductive as a kiss, and his eyes never left Dustin.
Using his left hand, Dustin got an awkward grip on his cock, drew it out, waited for the next command.
“You’re doing so good for me,” Wes praised. “Pinch a nipple for me, nice and hard, and I might let you touch your cock.”
“Oh fuck.” Dustin absolutely loved when Wes played like his, and being able to look at his intense face while he made such dirty commands was the best head trip ever. Following orders, he used his left hand to pinch his right nipple, hard enough to make himself gasp.
“Twist it. More.” Wes leaned forward, arms resting on his knees.
“Hurts,” Dustin panted. He’d had worse pain, of course, but somehow deliberate pain like this was a far different beast than the ordinary wear and tear he took over the course of training or a mission.
“That’s right. Doing good.” Wes’s blue eyes were almost black now. “You’ve earned a stroke, but slowly.”
“Yes. Thank you.” Dustin’s eyes squished shut as his hand connected with his throbbing cock.
“No, look at me,” Wes commanded, and Dustin’s eyes snapped back open.
He stroked himself with a firm grip, but slowly like Wes wanted. He had to squeeze hard on the base because he was that close to the edge. “Oh God.” His voice broke.
“Yeah? Tell me what you want.” Wes was breathing hard, the only sign that he wasn’t immune to Dustin’s show.
“I’m close.” Dustin’s whole body trembled as he repeated the slow stroke upward on his cock.
“No, you’re not.” Wes’s voice was stern, his eyes like granite chunks. “Tell me. Tell me what you want.”
Usually this was where Dustin would start begging to come, admitting to progressively kinkier fantasies, but instead the truth tumbled out. “Touch me. Oh, God, touch me please.”
