[Pat's Review]: "Broken Honor"

Broken Honor by Tonya Burrows
Publisher: Entangled: Select (February 24, 2015)
Series: HORNET,
Genre: Romantic Suspense

Ice-cold and unbreakable, Travis Quinn is the HORNET team's hard-ass. No weaknesses. Except, of course, for the accident that not only destroyed his career as a Navy SEAL, but left terrifying blanks in his memory. But Travis remembers everything about Mara Escareno--the curve of her lips, the feel of her body...and how he walked out on her suddenly six weeks ago.

Mara could never resist the dangerously sexy Travis, which is probably how she ended up pregnant and disowned by her family. But before Travis can fully process the news, Mara is kidnapped by his enemies and plunged into the violent, merciless world of human trafficking. They want Travis--and the information locked within his damaged memory--no matter the cost. And now Travis's enemies have discovered his only weakness...Mara.

Pat's Review:

This is the third book in the HORNET series and it's an excellent one. Suspense, heart pounding action and a sexy romance all packed into one book.

Travis Quinn, know by all as Quinn is facing the end of his career; again. He had to leave the SEAL's after a car accident left him with severe brain trauma. The headaches and blackouts are getting worse which terrifies him. He's on a month's leave, and will think long and hard about his team.  It doesn't seem possible for him to continue to be Gabe Bristow's, commander of the team's,  XO. Quinn picks up a an old phone message he never listened to. It's from Mara Escareno, a one night stand that turned into two, and a woman he can't stop thinking about. With a month's leave, he heads to see her in Texas.

Mara is a veterinary tech who is living on her own.  She is also pregnant with Quinn's child and as much as she doesn't want to, she has to tell him. He appears at her home, begging for forgiveness for his last walk out the door. He cares about her very much, but has so many demons in his head, noise and confusion, it's hard for him to stay in one place. He promises this time to stay. Finding out he's going to be a Dad shakes him to his core, and he runs, again. Changing his mind he races back in time to witness Mara being kidnapped. He will not leave her, he will protect her and their baby with his own life.

As always the HORNET's rally behind their brother. What they can't get their heads around is who and why a friend from another SEAL team is the kidnapper and who is behind it all?
I love this series and each book can be read as a stand alone, but, why deny yourself the entertainment of the first two? Ms. Burrows books are an auto-buy for me, and I can't wait for the next in the series.

5 STARS!

Tough issues in this one, but it does sound fab. I've only read one book by this author and I loved it. I have a few more on the TBR pile that I really need to get read.
