[Review]: "Changing His Game"

Changing His Game by Megan Erickson
Publisher: ntangled: Brazen (April 28, 2015)
Series: Gamers, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance

He controls the game, but she’s rewriting all the rules…

Marley Lake is no stranger to awkwardness, but getting caught watching a dirty GIF by the company’s hot new IT guy exceeds even her standards. That is, until she realizes he's as turned on by it as she is. But with a big promotion on the line, she refuses to let her current dry spell be her downfall. Maybe.

Austin Rivers has no business lusting after the irresistible editor of Gamers Magazine. He's a secret partner in the business—and technically Marley’s boss. One look at that GIF, though, and he’s ready to install a whole lot more than just software…as long as she never finds out who he really is.

But reality’s not as virtual as it seems, and when Austin’s identity jeopardizes Marley’s promotion, he has to change his game or risk losing the only woman with the cheat code to his heart.

My Review:

Changing His Game starts with a fun opening chapter involving a Tumblr porn GIF, and only gets better from there. This story was truly a fun romance from start to finish, and I loved the inclusion of gaming and fandom (and, obviously Tumblr porn because, well, REASONS). :)

"So, Austin can check your software updates, huh?"

Marley rolled her eyes, but Chad wasn't done.

"And he can defragment your hard drive?"

"Chad--"

"Perform some pair programming . . . horizontally?"

"Oh my God, stop now."

And all the puns/jokes from Chad . . . priceless!

Damn him for doing this to her at work. It was so inappropriate, and yet that's what turned her on the most. That everyone around her thought she was some uptight, controlling, frigid woman, not knowing that Saturday night, she'd been fingered in a movie theater lobby.

How was this her life now?

(I don't know, but at this point I was a bit jealous of Marley's life. Just saying.)

There was so much smutty goodness, where do I even start? The fingering in the theater lobby, the fingering under the table at the restaurant, the oral while Marley was playing video games . .  . So. Many. Good. Scenes!

"So let me get this straight." Chad threw a handful of popcorn into his mouth and faced her on the couch. "You sent each other explicit emails for about a week, then he clicked your mouse in a supply closet, and then you two decided to never see each other again."

"I can't believe you just said that." Marley banged the TV remote against her thigh. Damn thing was finicky.

"Oh, yeah, I split my infinite. Sorry about that."

Marley glared at him as he smirked. "The tech puns are getting old."

"You rode his joystick."

"Not again--"

"He uploaded his data to your motherboard."

"Seriously, you need to stop."

Chad pouted. "Please get married, because I will make a bangin' best man speech."

I so enjoyed Marley's brother, Chad (hope he gets a story, hint hint hint . . . ), and Austin's good friend and business partner, as well. I'm definitely a devoted fan of Megan Erickson – I've read her NA, her M/M and now her adult contemporary, and I've enjoyed them all. She has a very flirty-fun writing style (well, not so much in the M/M, which tore my heart out . . . but that's a different review, literally). If you want a sexy, unique romance, be sure to pick up Changing His Game!
