Whatcha Reading? (27)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and we will share our brief thoughts on books that we read during the previous week but will not be reviewing.

December 27th - January 2nd

TBQ:

-- Need You Tonight by Marquita Valentine --

I really enjoyed Parker's book and I'm so glad I finally read it. It's very hot and steamy, but also angsty. I did feel like the falling in love part was a bit rushed, but otherwise I don't really have any complaints about this book. Valentine is a favorite author and I definitely need to play catch up on a lot of her books. Between 3 1/2 and 4 STARS

*Note: Looks like she may have done a change in title since I got my ARC; it also shows up under "Melt For You" on Amazon. Same book though!

-- The Christmas He Loved Her by Juliana Stone --

Truly an emotional read, and not the most easy or happy "holiday romance", but I thought Stone did a good job with it. I will say that I was a bit thrown by the quick I Love Yous, and the fact that once again a great orgasm with the right woman cures the hero's PTSD troubles overnight, but otherwise I really did like it and found that I marked quite a few quotes in my book.  3 1/2 STARS

Favorite quote:

"Life isn't fair, Jake. It throws shit at us all the time. It's how we deal with that shit that decides whether we're going to make it or not."
