Whatcha Reading? (47)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and we will share our brief thoughts on books that we read during the previous week but will not be reviewing.

May 15th - 21st:

TBQ:

-- Fierce and Fabulous by Elizabeth Varlet --

Very angsty, has a GFY trope (which isn't really my favorite trope) but I ended up really liking Ansel, as well as seeing him and Fitch get their HEA. I'll have a full review up on June 29th and an interview with Elizabeth up on July 6th! 4 STARS

-- Tempting Boundaries by Carrie Ann Ryan --

First, can we talk about how hot this cover is?! Really, all of Carrie's covers are fantastic though. :)

I really enjoyed Decker and Mir's story. It's a bit of a friends-to-lover since they basically grew up together: she's the little sister to his best friend. There's some minor drama over that, but not much and the family quickly moves on to "Yay, we're so glad you're together!". There's some angst from Decker's dick of a father and his childhood, as well as an issue with a jealous asshole that wanted Mir.

More importantly though, Mir and Decker have major chemistry and Carrie definitely brings the steam with this one. Decker may also have a piercing . . .  ;)

All in all, a great (and sexy!) read. I'm looking forward to playing catch up with the rest of this series. I do love the Montgomery family. 4 STARS

-- Primal Instinct by Tara Wyatt --

I liked this one. It's my first time reading this author, and I fully admit the cover plus the bodyguard-turned-lover storyline grabbed me. It wasn't a perfect hit for me, but over all nothing major was wrong with it either. I'll have a review up on Wednesday (25th). 3  STARS

-- Unbreak My Heart by Nicole Jacquelyn --

I'm wavering between 3 1/2 and 4 stars. Shane was a complete ass SO MANY TIMES, and I wasn't always happy with Kate, either, but I liked the story and there were scenes where I loved Shane and Kate together. It's a tough one, but all in all Jacquelyn handled it pretty well. I'd happily read another book of hers. I'll have a full review up May 30th. 3 1/2 STARS (ish)
