Whatcha Reading? (79)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and I will share my brief thoughts on books that I read during the previous week.

-- How Not to Let Go by Emily Foster --

Emotionally fucked up hero, ahoy! Seriously. Also, their story is told in two books, and one (How Not to Fall) ends on a bit of a cliffhanger -- at least as far as their HEA goes. It wraps up in this one though, so don't worry about that! Of the two, I liked this book a bit more and felt it was more consistent from start to end. But you will need to read both books to enjoy their story; there's nothing horrible wrong with HNtF (I gave it 4 stars) but I did have a few minor issues with it.


This duology is extremely sexy and sex positive, it's fun -- hero and heroine are extremely smart and often talk in science-y ways -- and it's also very high on the angst, drama, and emotions, especially in this book. It's NA (she's 23, he's 26) and dual 1st POV (book 1 was just her POV). It's not going to be everyone's thing, but I'm confident certain readers will love it. 4 1/2 Stars

-- Royally Screwed by Emma Chase -- [Audiobook, Library]

I saw so much hype about this book when it came out, and I was thrilled when I saw my library had it on audio. Of course I had to wait in a long line, but it was worth the wait -- and the read! I really enjoy Chase's writing style, and I loved this fun and sexy story. I also cannot wait for Henry's story! The narration was great, especially the narrator for Nicholas; I quite liked his voice and accent. :) 4 1/2 Stars
