romance novel covers, contemporary romance, Royal Pick, Puppy Love by Kelly Moran
Puppy Love by Kelly Moran
Publisher: Lyrical Shine (February 28, 2017)
Series: Redwood Ridge, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance

After a passionless marriage under the scrutiny of high society, Avery Stowe is taking back her life. All she wants is a little privacy and a quiet place to raise her autistic daughter, Hailey. Redwood Ridge, Oregon, seems to offer all the right ingredients. Except for the problem of the local sexy veterinarian. The last thing she needs in her life is to fall for his irresistible allure, even if he is a nice guy who keeps doing her favors. But the well-meaning patrons of her new hometown have other ideas, and it appears playing Cupid is one of them.

Cade O’Grady has never met a woman he couldn't handle, but when Avery Stowe walks into his office late one night cradling an injured puppy, he’s struck stupid. Which might explain her total lack of interest in him. But now that she’s working for his family’s clinic, he doesn't have to lust from a distance. He might just have a chance at convincing Avery—and her too-guarded heart—that falling for the right man isn't a mistake . . .

Pat's Review:

This novel has so much heart and soul. A young single mom with an autistic child moves to live near her mother in a small Oregon town, Redwood Ridge. After a devastating divorce, she needs family. She finds so much more in Redwood Ridge.

Avery Stowe is settling into her cozy cabin with her daughter, Hailey. Hailey was diagnosed with non-verbal autism at 2 years old. Their lives consist of routines, safeguards and lots of love and patience. Hailey's first night in her home she finds an unlocked door and wanders out. Avery is in a panic when she realizes, but finds her cuddling a severely injured puppy in the snow.  The local veterinary office is close by and she quickly drives the puppy there, with a very upset Hailey. Dr. Cade O'Grady is not very welcoming and seems angry with her.

Cade O'Grady is one of three brothers running the practice, which was started by their Dad. Cade's brother Flynn is deaf, and Drake, their surgeon, has never recovered from his wife's death and is quite broody. Their Aunt Rosa runs the practice with an iron hand, but really wants to retire. When Avery appeared with the injured puppy, he was angry because he thought it was their puppy, left unattended. Finding out he was wrong, he immediately heads to Avery to apologize. She softens her opinion of Cade and agrees she will keep the dog for Hailey. Not to mention that Dr. Cade is an "eye-gasm."

This contemporary romance was a pleasure to read. I'm looking forward to more with Flynn and Drake's stories. If you love animals, romance and sizzle.....this is the book for you.
