Series: Boston Heat, 1
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Ex-Army Ranger Erik Grady lives for the job. So when his chief at the Boston Fire Department offers him two choices—mandated therapy for supposed PTSD or a permanent desk job at the station, he reluctantly agrees to see a shrink. Only this doctor is unlike anything he expected. Female and curved in all the right places? Check. Hotter than a four-alarm fire? Check. The kind of woman that can heat his blood in and out of bed? Check, check. And oh, yeah, he just happens to have first hand experience...

Of all the men to walk into psychologist Olivia Jones' office, why did it have to be him? Her one-night stand isn't playing by the rules of just. One. Night. She’s had her heart broken in the past, and no way is she going there again. And now he's blackmailing her into three dates? Well, if that's what it takes to make him see a different therapist, fine. She can handle it. So what if the chemistry between them is combustible? She's a professional, damn it. She'll date Mr. I'm Too Sexy For My Bunker Pants. But it won’t end in the fun he expects.

It’s time to see how much heat this fireman can take…

Pat's Review:

Two people meet by chance in a liquor store, planning to drown their sorrows in the comfort of their homes after a frustrating evening for both of them. They feel an instant attraction. Go home alone, or a one night stand? Hotel, no strings, fake names and a single night of forgetting -- why not?

Erik "Wolf" Grady is a former Army Ranger, now Lieutenant in the Boston Fire Department. His team is also comprised of a group of his Army brothers and he loves his job.  After attending a fire/explosion, his dark side came awake again and shook him to the core. He hated being labeled with PTSD. Now on medical leave till he can get back some control, he is forced to see a psychologist. Not on his list of fun things to do. So, to forget with a beautiful "Lady in Red" for a one night stand, sounds perfect.

Olivia Jones, a psychologist, was tired of dating. After a divorce that broke her heart two years ago, she decided it was time to get back into life. But a series of really bad dates was giving her second thoughts. Then, she ran into this huge, kind, very sexy man in a liquor store after another terrible date, and he started giving her some sizzling thoughts. He called himself Wolf, she was Livvie, he bought her a bottle of wine and helped her get her locked car open. Now he offered her something a little more intimate. She had never done this before, it wasn't a date...... No, it wasn't a date, but what happens after is quite an explosion of itself!

This novel will make you laugh out loud, and fall in love. You also might want to keep a glass of ice water and a fan nearby, it's that hot! Always love romance novels by Ms. Maxwell, but add a former Army Ranger/firefighter and a feisty psychologist and you've got a perfect mix. I highly recommend this fun, sexy read.

5 STARS!
