Saving Mr. Perfect by Tamara Morgan

- Book 2 (of 3) in this series, covers the same couple
- Dual 1st POV (book 1 was only heroine's POV, btw)
- Married couple
- FBI hero
- Heroine is a jewel thief
- Reformed
- ...Mostly. Kinda.
- Liked it, but felt like my attention wasn't fully invested in the book (took me 3 days -- which isn't terribly long, but a bit more than usual for me)
- The romance, both in this and book 1, is the weak part
- Definitely more light mystery/action/suspense and jewel heist story than romance, imo
- Liked getting some of the hero's POV in this one, it helped some
- I don't always Penelope, she can be a bit naive/TSTL with her decisions
- Last 20% or so --- wasn't expecting all those turns. Well done.
- Looking forward to see where their last book goes
- This series is a good read -- just go into it knowing the romance is super light, almost MIA on page. And I don't just mean sex. :/

The Undoing by Shelly Laurenston

Rating = 4 Stars
- Nordic gods and mythology and kickass women = YAY!
- Fun characters and story
- Great world that Laurenston has created
- Enjoy that the heroine here is anti-social
- Loved that both hero and heroine were a bit more on the nerdy side, though both are still tough and can kickass, too
- Decent heat -- not much sex (length and number of scenes), but what's there is hot! Viking sex against the wall FTW! ;)
- Snark and (sometimes over-the-top campy) fun -- always a plus!
- Narration was good, though I was unsure when I first started; before long, I was happy with it and enjoyed her performance
- I'm definitely seeing why so many love Laurenston; I'm sorry I held off on reading her books for so long. Definitely plan to make up for that -- if only my library would get more of them in! Though luckily they do have the 3rd book in this series, at least.
By the way, book 1 is currently $1.99 and 3 is currently $0.99 right now!

August Royal Pick
- Gavin -- Bi football star [in the closet]
- Gets in a bit of trouble -- while defending his best friend -- and must go under house arrest
- He needs a PA to run his errands and whatnot
- Enter Noah, who needs a job -- any job -- right now
- He wants to work with LGBTQ youth, like a social worker / program director
- Right now he just needs the cash to get himself, and his father, out of debt
- Doesn't follow football, doesn't give a shit about Gavin -- which is most of the reason why he's hired
- And so the sparks fly!
- Slow burn, well worth it

- Starts out with a fun meeting between the two -- she needs his help, he doesn't want to talk to her, and he tries to make her go away by talking about masturbation. She doesn't let that scare her off.
- Keith -- former Navy SEAL
- Trina -- historian with the Navy
- Shorter heroine, has glasses!
- Explosions and bad guys and missions gone bad, oh my!
- Also, good chemistry between the two
- Really enjoyed this one, and Grant's writing style
- Quick read
- Will definitely be back for more
- Definitely curious about some of the previous couples that show up
