Werewolf Mates and Connections

Predestined mates are a thing of fiction. Good thing I write fiction! In the Redwood Pack, my werewolves can only mate and have children with certain people. When the wolf catches the scent, they have a choice.

Is this the perfect person for me? Or should I walk away and wait for hundreds of years for one that’s perfect for me?

I love the idea of predestined mates. Because even if they are thrown together, mated and now live together, doesn’t mean that they are perfectly meshed in a loving relationship. There are trials, tribulations, fights and tensions – along with falling in love.

Fate may have pulled Jasper and Willow together, but it will take them both to make it work. In my whole series, each couple reacts differently when thrown together. Some people fight it and try to walk away, some people like Jasper and Willow, come together and see if their lives can work. But sometimes, outside forces them to come together faster then they wanted.

In any relationship they need to find out more about each other and how they can connect before they move on. I love writing about how their lives change when they move into together, or when they find out they fell in love, or when they fight that fall and deny it.

Even though fate told Willow and Jasper they were mates, even though they both like each other and could easily fall in love, doesn’t mean it will be easy or will be possible with the turmoil outside the Pack.

That’s why I love writing and reading romance. I love watching the fall as much as I love watching them pick up the pieces and become true mates.

What do you like about predestined mates?

~*~*~*~*~

Jasper Jamenson’s only responsibility to being the Beta of the Redwood Pack, second son of the Alpha, is to protect the Pack from themselves and the human world. After a century of selfless service, his brother’s new found mating forced him into taking a good look into his life. He isn’t sure he wants a mate, but fate may have other ideas.

Willow Delton is a skinny, bakery owner – the type most woman love to hate. Being without family, she finds herself alone to the Greek god with green eyes who saunters into her bakery every morning. Her desire to follow him, to be with him, overrides every rational sense she possessed.

Jasper and Willow are drawn together, despite every nuisance that works against them. But evil beyond even Jasper’s supernatural compensation will make war against him, by going after the only thing in his eternal life he desires – Willow. Is Willow’s heart enough to overcome Jasper’s soul to save her life? A fight he cannot win, but to save her life – he must.

Excerpt One:

She stood back and closed her eyes, conjuring the memory of her mystery man’s face. The image that filled her mind made her forget the lack of human contact. The thought of his deep, husky voice tickled her spine whenever he spoke. Green eyes caught her in his web with only a glance. She had fallen for a stranger and didn’t even know his name. He would come into her store every morning and order a cinnamon roll and coffee with only a few words. Then he would pay cash before lifting up the corner of his mouth in a semblance of a smile and walked out of her store. Was it strange she worried he’d keep walking and never return?

A bell’s tinkle pulled Willow from her reverie and self-pity. As she turned to greet her customer, her heart leapt to her throat. Him. Her mysterious fantasy. As she tried to regain her senses, she took all of him in. He had to be one of the tallest men she’d ever seen, easily over six and a half feet. The tight black T-shirt he wore hugged his biceps and cut into his muscular physique, while his broad shoulders stretched and strained the seams. His body tapered down to a narrow waist and hips as they met his thighs. His long legs were encased in worn jeans leading to work boots. Hmm, construction perhaps? She glanced back up his body to his striking face. He wasn’t beautiful, but he did have a face women dreamed about. A strong jaw and cheekbones gave him an aura of strength and protection. Hair was midnight black and long enough to brush his shoulders. However, today, a band held it back, showcasing his face more. He studied her, his green eyes calm and calculating. Willow let out a surprised gasp at the sexual heat radiating from him. Could she possibly be imagining things?

I love pre-destined mates too, for all the reasons you listed. Just because fate says you are meant to be together doesn't mean it will be easy. I've been following the blog tour, and gave in and bought both books. (even though I'm supposed to be on a buying ban!)I have 210 books in my TBR pile, but your are toward the top of the list! lol

I love the fact that the story sounds like any other romance, but it isn't. So many twists and turns, questions, answers, romance and finally true love. Great plot.

Aww really? Well thank you so much! I'm on a new author buying ban. Meaning I won't try any new authors until August. I totally break that rule all the time though LOL

Thank you! I try doing that. I love ready "easy-to-love" romances. But I love reading about the things happening around them more. :-)

Thanks for stopping by! :)

I have to agree with you on this one--I think you summed up the book perfectly!

I totally loved this book. Loved how Jasper cherished her to take things slow and then that was taken away from them. When you thought they could be happy something happens. Love how your books pull me in to where I never wanna put them down.

Predestined mating works in fiction but not in real life! I especially like it when there are still obstacles to them being together. Just because a mating is fated doesn't mean it has to be smooth.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I have been away from my computer and unable to keep up with your book tour. I'm playing catch-up now!

Loved both of these books! They keep getting better and better! I really like the fated mate - you search forever hoping to find the one a constant search - it just seems special.

I love a story of predestined mates. They have no choice but to address the issue. Which can make for some intersting scenes. I like to see how they resolve it. Not to mention..I believe it makes it more realistic to see the struggles. I love it.

I think the fantasy of predestined mates is so much fun! It's like....you can run and hide, hiss and fight, but at the end of the day, you're just meant to be. And it works. So I do like that fantasy. If only it was so easy in real life.
