Hello Ink Readers,
It seems like things are off to a slow start, and that's partly my fault. Since I've had two family members in and out of the hospital lately, I've not been online much, and I've fallen behind on many things, including helping to promote Ink Readers.
So my thought for this month's "theme" is not a question so much as it is an Ice-Breaker for all of us.
I'm going to randomly pair everyone up with another member and that is who you will write to (for this month, at least).
Now, you may still write to whoever you wish, as many (or as few) letters as you wish. But I thought this would be a fun way to get things started. I don't know about you, but I've yet to send or receive any letters!
I'll split up the list of current members in half, put both "halves" into the list randomizer and pair you up that way. I'll send emails to each member, letting them know who they are with, so watch your inbox!
New Members:
Once you have signed up (using this link), I will then pair you up and let you know via email.
Now that you have your pen-pal partner,
what should you write about?
Well, here are a few ideas.
Please note, you do not have to use these, but perhaps they'll help to get things going! :)
- Tell your pen-pal a little bit about yourself
- Share your favorite book--or ask for theirs!
- Share your favorite genre; your least favorite
- Share a recent book that you feel everyone should read--and why!
- Share you dream house/library (come one, all readers have one, right?)
- Share with your pen-pal the book(s) that made you the reader you are today!
Or, if you wish, you can always write about last month's theme, which, as I gather, only a few participated in. (Though I'm not one to complain...I didn't either--yikes!).
Hot Chocolate, a favorite re-read and a comfy spot--I'm set! :) |
Emily, an Ink Reader, gave me a great idea for next month, and I'll give you a hint..it will involve local post cards OR holiday cards. So if you wish to participate, start thinking of what you would like to send now!
I'm still planning future themes/question, so if you have any ideas, please share them in the comments below OR email me!
And if you're not happy with being paired up like this, then please let me know! If you don't tell me what you like, or don't like, about the program, how can I change it? ;)
Here are all the links you will need:
- Find out all you need to know about joining Ink Readers!
- Sign up for Ink Readers!
- See Who Else is an Ink Reader!
- Join the GoodReads 'Ink Reader' group!
- When talking about the group on Twitter, please use the hashtag #InkReaders so that we may all follow along (let us know when you send/receive a letter, etc)
Enjoy!
Until Next Time,

Oh I love this idea! I was just thinking the other day how I missed writing letters! I have added my name! Thank you!
Welcome--I'm so glad I'm not the only one who misses letters! :) Some of my friends think I'm a bit weird for wanting to write letters instead of texting or emailing--they just don't know what they are missing though! :)
I'll send you an email later today with more instructions, as well as who you will be partnered with for this month. But remember--you can still write to whoever you want!
Enjoy!
