Blog Tour: Guest Post by Sophie Jordan!

WELCOME TO THE BLOG, SOPHIE! :)

Sophie Jordan took her adolescent daydreaming one step further and penned her first romance in the back of her high school Spanish class. This passion led her to pursue a degree in English and History.
A brief stint in law school taught her that case law was not nearly as interesting as literature - teaching English seemed a natural choice. After several years teaching high school students to love ANTIGONE, Sophie decided it was time to pursue her long-held dream of writing. Two years later, she landed her first publishing contract.
Her first book, ONCE UPON A WEDDING NIGHT, was a 2006 Romantic Times Reviewers' Choice Nominee for Best First Historical. Her second novel, TOO WICKED TO TAME, released in March 2007 with a bang - landing on the USA Today Bestseller's List. A few books later marked her first appearance on the New York Times bestseller list with the release of IN SCANDAL THEY WED.
And as if she's not busy enough, Sophie writes young adult fiction for HarperTeen and contemporary paranormals for Pocket. Sophie resides in Houston with her family and loves to hear from readers. To learn the latest information about Sophie and her books, follow her on facebook and twitter.

The Earl In My Bed – Why This Story Needed To Be Told!

When I was asked to write a historical novella, I knew instantly that it would be part of my Forgotten Princesses series. In my last book, LESSONS FROM A SCANDALOUS BRIDE, we met the secondary character of Annalise. She’s the heroine of my next full-length historical, HOW TO LOSE A BRIDE IN ONE NIGHT (title kind of says it all, no??). Readers familiar with Lessons From A Scandalous Bride will remember Annalise … and hopefully anxious for her book. J She’s a special character to me. Crippled, she walks with a limp, and she’s led a rather grim life. She is perhaps the single most empathetic heroine I’ve ever written – so clearly deserving of love and a happily ever after. I thought a novella would be the perfect opportunity to highlight her hero, and give you a glimpse of the man who will ultimately win her heart.

So … The Earl In My Bed provides the back story for Annalise’s hero – Owen, the Earl of McDowell. But important to note, it is a stand-alone story. It’s the story of Owen’s brother, Jamie, and the girl the brothers grew up with: Paget. Paget was supposed to marry Owen … but plans go awry. Which, of course, is a good thing since I’m saving Owen for Annalise! I love the angst and complication of forbidden love. Paget and Jamie try to fight their attraction, having no wish to crush Owen, but their desire for each other can’t be denied. But, oh, they put up a valiant fight!

To give you an idea of Jamie and Paget’s story, here’s the summary for The Earl In My Bed:

Intended for one man ...

All her life, everyone assumed Paget Ellsworth, the vicar’s daughter, would marry the Earl of Winningham’s youngest son. And when he left for war with his older brother, Jamie, words and promises were not necessary. She would wait.

But destined for another …

Four years pass, and the death of his father forces Jamie home to take up the reins as the new earl, leaving his brother fighting on the front lines a world away. Maddening, infuriating, sexy Jamie makes Paget question her feelings. One glimpse, one word from him awakens desire in her heart. When a simple kiss spirals out of control at the annual Valentine’s Day ball, she realizes the man she never wanted is the man she needs ... but will Paget cast aside all she’s ever thought to be true to win the man of her dreams?

As you can see it’s that taboo/forbidden love theme – one of my favorites in romance novels. I mean one brother shouldn’t go after his brother’s girl … but what if he can’t help himself? And what if said girl wants him, too? Oh, the sweet agony… ;)

Thanks for having me here today. Hope you enjoy The Earl In My Bed!
