Here's my candidate for the week:

Beautiful Addictions by Season Vining
Publication Date: St. Martin's Griffin (January 28, 2014)
Genre: New Adult Contemporary

Josie Banks is a girl without a past.  After being found unconscious with no memory, she was shuffled in and out of foster homes where she suffered years of abuse. An experience that left her broken, damaged, and clinging to drugs and meaningless hook-ups to numb her pain.

When Josie disappeared years ago, she took a piece of Tristan with her.  She’s the girl he thought he lost forever—the one he’s never been able to forget.  Now a twist of fate has brought them back together again, and he never wants to let her out of his inked arms.  But Tristan is haunted by a dark past of his own.  On the run from ruthless criminals that shattered Josie’s world years ago, reentering her life puts them both in grave danger.

As Josie and Tristan’s lives become tangled once again, they find themselves unwilling and unable to escape the relentless pull that draws them together.  But in Beautiful Addictions by Season Vining, will the past leave their love in ruins—or bind them together for a lifetime?

Kame's Pick

Breaking Point by Pamela Clare
Publication Date: Berkley (May 3, 2011)
Series: I-Team, 5
Genre: Romantic Suspense

While investigating border violence in Ciudad Ju├írez, Mexico, Denver journalist Natalie Benoit is caught in a bloody ambush and taken captive. Alone in the hands of ruthless killers, she will need every ounce of courage she possesses to survive.

Betrayed by another operative, Deputy U.S. Marshal Zach McBride has endured a week of torture and interrogation at the hands of a bloodthirsty Mexican drug cartel. Ready to give his life if he must, he remains unbroken—until he hears the cries of an American woman.

Although Natalie is only a voice in the darkness of their shared prison, her plight brings renewed strength to Zach's battered body. With her help, he overpowers their captors, and they flee through the desert toward the border, the attraction between them flaring hotter than the Sonoran sun.

But past loss and tragedy leave both of them reluctant to follow their hearts, even when the passion between them reaches its breaking point. Faced with feelings neither expected, they fight to stay ahead of the danger that hunts them as forces more powerful than they can imagine conspire to destroy them both…

Don't worry about it-- I'll be late discussing too. Somehow I fell behind on my books this month and just started Hidden Talents yesterday--oops! I'm almost done, but yeah, I won't be adding anything to the discussion thread until tonight/tomorrow morning either. :) Hope you had a great visit with your Mom though!
