Ever,
I don’t know who I am anymore. I’m a castaway. Lost. Drowning. I love you. That’s the only true thing I know, and it’s all I have to hold on to. I love you. I’ll love you forever. Until the day I die, and I’ll love you in whatever world comes after this one. I love you so much, Ever. I miss you. Dear Jesus, I miss you. Come back to me.
For forever, and after forever,
Caden

Forever + Always (#1) -- MM
Musing Maddie's Review:
Heart wrenching, agonizing, brilliance.
When is forbidden permissible?
After Forever explored the desperation of loneliness, grief, isolation, and the tenuous link between forbidden and understandable. What is normal when there's no guideline to follow? The fine line between selfishness and selflessness can become blurred. Slowly. Surely. Sadly?
You will most probably cry. You might feel anger, revulsion, fear, hope, grief, and surprisingly, unexpected desire even. One thing will be sure. You will be captivated and rewarded for your effort to continue reading. After Forever, alternating between Eden and Cade's voice, was like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion. You think you know what's going to happen. You dread the unfolding disaster, but you cannot avert your eyes.
Was it the characters whose skin you felt you were inside of, whose minds were laid damaged, bare before you? Was it the meticulous care taken to create a soul-changing story that was compelling as much as it was agonising? Disgusting? Was it the raw, unfiltered torment so artfully captured by Wilder's exceptionally talented pen? Perhaps it was all those things.
Do not start this book if you are after a light, happy and restful read. Do start this book if you are up for a mind-arresting challenge. Wilder continuously steps out of the typical formula in her books. You never really know where her distinctly unique journeys might take you, but I will always, willingly, board for the ride.
I can't say I loved After Forever, because that would almost shout ignorance: That I didn't get the essence of the sadness, tragedy, desolation, passionate intensity.
But, it was powerfully moving, beautifully and perfectly detailed, and a story that will stay with me for years. Perhaps that is love. Jasinda Wilder. I thank you, however, for providing us with the incredible gift of After Forever. But please, can we have book three tomorrow?

Meet Musing Maddie:
Musing Maddie is an avid reader, who mainly devours all things romance. She loves series, but only when the story warrants a few books rather than one. A strong, intelligent female with a bit of sass and wit is the preferred heroine in the books she reads, and some sizzle between the sheets is welcome too. Well, ok...more than welcome! Well, not just between the sheets is just fine too! She’s from Down Under, so her humor is on the crazy side. Captivating storylines, with well developed plot and yes, hot, hunky Heroes, is definitely a preference, but she loves it when the characters are damaged, and their story brings hope and restoration. Yes please to HEAs!

Thanks for the review, MM! I look forward to reading this one, it sounds very good!
Remember the reader's note from MM: If you like angst, then I suggest you read this series. If you like light and fluffy – do not go there! :-)
Have you read Jasinda Wilder? What was the last romance with angst that you picked up? Or do you prefer your novels more on the light and fluffy side?
