Here's my candidate for the week:

Undefeated by Melissa Cutler
Publisher: InterMix (November 28, 2014)
Series: Bomb Squad, 2
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Welcome to Destiny Falls, New York, home of Bomb Squad—an ice hockey team full of rugged military heroes. The team’s battling a losing streak, but the season’s biggest game changer is one player’s second chance with the one who got away…

Yoga instructor Marlena Brodie is always up for a challenge, and her new job of snapping Bomb Squad out of their rut is definitely that, even though it means being in close contact with Liam McAllister, her high school crush gone bad. She can feel the damage pouring off of him—but also a wild and sexy strength that calls to her.

The Army turned Liam McAllister into a man, but as a combat medic, he saw far too much to ever be whole again. He’s not interested in the civilian world beyond his job as a carpenter, but he never stopped wondering what might have been with Marlena—and it isn’t long before she’s crashed through his carefully constructed walls. He longs for a new beginning with her, but to be the man she deserves, he’ll have to step out of his defensive zone and score the most important play of his life…

Books in the Bomb Squad hockey series:
Risky Business (Bomb Squad #1)- August 2014
Undefeated (Bomb Squad #2) - November 2014
Game Changer (Bomb Squad #3) - April 2015

Why?

Do I really need to spell it out? Sexy abs. Hero is in great shape. He has a tattoo. He's ex-military. HE'S SEXY! End of discussion.

I'm really looking forward to this series; it sounds so, so good! In fact, all three covers are SMEXY -- see them all on this post. :)

Protection by Elise de Sallier
Publisher: The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House (May 1st, 2014)
Series: Forbidden Love, 2
Genre: Historical Romance

In the much awaited conclusion to Innocence, (A Forbidden Love, Book One) Nathaniel, the Marquis of Marsden, is left reeling at the revelation of Lisa's royal heritage. Keeping her safe has always been his priority, and he is determined to protect her . . . from the King's machinations, their enemies, and her own overly generous nature if necessary. But first, he must make amends for taking advantage of her innocence.

Although overjoyed to be reunited with Nathaniel, Lisa fears she made a better mistress than she will a marchioness. Longing for a return to the freedom they shared when he thought her a commoner, she does her best to live up to his—and society's—expectations, but she's only willing to compromise so far. Being kept in the dark is no longer an option. Despite the unexpected pleasure she discovered in Nathaniel's arms, if there is one thing Lisa has learned . . . ignorance is far from bliss.

Kame: Love this concept – the play with lighting – the simple cropped image, the little scruff.  I also think the font is a great choice. Very simple but done so well!

TBQ: You're right -- it is simple, but that's not a bad thing at all in this case!

What cover are you currently lusting for? Tell me, I want to know! Follow the directions above on how to post your own Lusting for Covers, and leave a comment telling me what you think of the cover for Undefeated and Protection?

I really love the cover of both, but Undefeated is my favorite, shows more of the male specimen which gets me *licking my lips*!!! :) Although I love the blurb of Protection, I do love a protective man.

Oh nice! That one reminds me of Jaci Burton and I ALWAYS love her covers.

Hehe -- it's true, it's hard to resist such covers! :)

The_Book_Queen said...

YES -- her covers are totally L4C worthy!

I'm loving both of these covers. Undefeated due to the sexy abs and you mentioning ex-military (I'm on a military kick right now) and Protection due to the angel of the photo taken of the model. I love a guy with scruff too, which is a plus. =)

The_Book_Queen said...

Oh yes, I can never resist some sexy scruff! :)

TBQ~ Ex-military and hockey player, what are you trying to do to me. *self-fan*
Kame~ I love the simplicity of the cover, yet he looks delicious.

Oh I love the covers of both, but for sure am lusting for the Melissa Cutler book. I am such a huge hockey fan and that cover makes me melt and want to read this book today, but I will have to wait. I like Melissa's books and so for sure looking forward to this series. And I also agree with Meloday May, Ex-Military & Hockey-what more could a girl ask for in a sexy character.

It's true, that is a deadly combination for a hero -- impossible for us to avoid the temptation! :) Thanks for stopping by!

Both covers are great, but I have a weakness for "protection", I love the lightning and... I want to touch lol !

The_Book_Queen said...

:) It does make you want to touch. And stroke. And perhaps bite . . . Ahem.
Enjoy!
