#FitReaders: Weekly Check-In

A new year, new goals. And this year I'm participating in FitReaders to help get in shape.

#FitReaders is hosted by Geeky Bloggers Book Blog  and That’s What I’m Talking About. Interested in joining? Find out more HERE

January 2nd - 8th:

  • Walked the dogs twice a day, every day (except for Saturday -- only one walk).
  • Increased the distance on the dog walks: now doing 1 mile in the morning and a little over 2 in the afternoon.
  • Did crunches, squats and jumping jacks almost every day -- average of 20 of each.
  • Chased Pup 1 around the house every day. Gave him play time and me more steps. Win-win!

  • Total steps for the week: 50,420
  • Total miles for the week: 25.74
  • Weight: No change.

The last few days I've been out of it; I don't know if it's the flu or what, but I've felt like shit. Because of that, I haven't reached my 10K daily steps goal at all this week, but I hope to get back on track next week. Hopefully whatever this is will finally be gone by then!

If you use FitBit, you can find me HERE. Let's make 2015 our year to get fit! :)

Enjoy!

Thanks, Grace! :) I owe it all to the dogs. Really, if it wasn't for their begging eyes for walks, I'm afraid I may be a coach potato ALL THE TIME, not just when I'm sick!

Thanks, Kathy! :) *sigh* Why can't work and life in general stop getting in our ways, huh? Here's hoping you make your goals next week -- I'm sure you will!

Bummer about the illness, but the rest of it looks great. Way to go!

I'm never sick -- but of course this had to hit the day before Spring term. *sigh* Thanks, Sophia!

That is so awesome!! I usually do pilates and yoga and some cardio, I can't really go running anymore since I get shin splint, but ever since I started eating healthier, I have started to see a change, for the first time in a few years, so I am just loving it. I love these goals you have. I always love the feeling of after doing a workout. Hope you feel better and hope your classes are going good. Enjoy your weekend.

It's amazing how simply changing what we eat can change so much. :)

So far so good -- I may not be saying that as classes go on though. lol

Have a great weekend!

Nice to have you joining us! Having dogs to look after is a built-in way to exercise. I like how you are trying to build up more distance. Yea!

You did great in spite of being sick! Take care of yourself.

Thanks -- I will! ;)

Happy to be joining, Jen! So very true; if it wasn't for these two pups . . .

Last summer I was walking close to 6 miles every day -- just dog walks, not including steps/distance from everything else during the day. But then my classes started in the fall, thee days got shorter, colder, and snowier, and I had to cut back. Now I'm trying to slowly build back up as the days creep closer to spring! :)
