Interview with Eve Langlais!

Hello, my name is Eve. I’m a stay at home mom who writes full time in between juggling my three kids, hubby, and housework, I write really raunchy stuff–usually with werewolves lol.
I am a bestselling Amazon author, ranking often in their to 100 romance authors. But I’m not just popular with Kindle readers. I was one of the top ten selling authors
on AllRomance for 2013 and have had numerous of my books hit the top 20 books over all on Barnes & Nobles as well.

I am the first person to admit I am totally boring and lead a mundane life. Seriously. My idea of fun is shopping at our local Walmart lol. I like to play video games, cook, and read. My inspiration, hmm, I guess you could say hubby as he is a total alpha male which means I often want to club him over head with a frying pan. But, despite his ornery, ‘I-am-man’ nature, I love him dearly.

I’m writing romance, my way. I do have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. I like strong alpha males, naked chests and werewolves. Lots of werewolves. In fact, you’ll notice most of my multi partner stories revolve around great, big, overprotective Lycans who just want to please their woman. I am also extremely partial to aliens, you know the kind who abduct their woman and then drive them insane…with pleasure of course.

My heroines, they kind of run the gamut. I have some that are shy and soft spoken, others that will kick a man in the balls and laugh. Many of them are chubby, because in my world, girls with curves ROCK! Oh and some of my heroines are a teeny tiny bit evil, but in their defense, they need love too.

Some of my work does push boundaries and cross lines. Good and evil aren’t always clear in my tales, and in some cases, I’ve stomped on well known religious ideologies. Have I mentioned my imagination is a tad bit warped?

I tend to have a lot of sexual tension in my tales because I think all torrid love affairs start with a tingle in our tummies. And when my characters do finally give in to the needs of their flesh? Well, let’s just say, you shouldn’t be reading my stuff at work. The door is wide open, explicit and hot. Really, really hot.

I love to write, and while I don’t always know what my mind is going to come up with next, I can promise it will be fun, probably humorous and most of all romantic, because I love a happily ever after.

Where to Find Eve:

TheBookQueen: Hi Eve! I have some cranberry orange scones fresh from the oven. Can I offer you something to drink?

Eve: Water or coffee would hit the spot, thank you.

TBQ: Tell us a little bit about yourself and the books you write. How did you get started writing romance novels?

Eve: I began writing on a dare from my husband. It happened just after Christmas in 2009. In my mid thirties, a mom of three, and working from home as customer service rep and webmistress, I turned a lot to books for entertainment. I was a happily ever after junkie, and one day, a romance I read had such a bad ending, I threw the darned thing against a wall. Hubby, not sympathetic to my irritation, said if I didn’t like it, then I should write something better. Dare me, will he? Ha. I showed him. lol. Needless to say, more than 60 books later, he’s very proud of himself for challenging me.

TBQ: Yay for you standing up to his dare! :)

Your newest release, Wolf’s Capture, just came out a few weeks ago – Congrats!
Can you tell us a little bit about this book, and why readers are going to love it?

Eve: Late last spring, I wanted to branch out from my ongoing series. I needed to do something fresh. Something new. Hence, a new world, revolving around Kodiak Point was born. Each book, Kodiak’s Claim, Outfoxed by Love, Polar, Bared, Caribou’s Gift, Wolf’s Capture and the upcoming Grizzly Love, each follow a different H/h. While each can be read as a stand alone, there is an over-reaching story arc. But you were asking about Wolf’s Capture, the fourth installment in this bestselling series. Here’s the story of a man who misses the adrenaline of war. Who doesn’t want to settle down like some of his buddies for a quiet, picket fence life. When he gets captured and tossed into a cage with the mysterious Layla, even though she is the enemy, he can’t help but find himself drawn to her. And from there adventure and fireworks ensue.

TBQ: Adventures and fireworks always make for the best reads. :D

Why do Brody and Layla belong together?

Eve: Brody is too restless and action driven to enjoy a quiet domestic life. As for Layla, she spent a good portion of her life as a prisoner. She’s not ready to escape one cage only to find herself locked into another as a model citizen. Together, they realize they can have not only love, but adventure too.

TBQ: Aw!

In 5 words or less, describe Layla for us. And let's not forget Brody -- what's he like?

Eve: Layla – courageous, sarcastic, alone, determined, wounded. As for Brody – reckless, brave, sexy, sarcastic, loyal

TBQ: Hehe -- I think I'd get along with these two. I have a bit of a sarcastic streak myself . . .

Do you have a favorite part from Wolf’s Capture?

Eve: I think the banter between Brody and Layla really makes this story. He’s so used to women fawning over him that he doesn’t know how to deal with one who treats him with sarcastic disdain. The other big thing in this book is we finally get a glimpse of the one who’s been behind the nefarious plots targeting the shifters living in Kodiak’s Point.

TBQ: I loooove good banter!

What was the last book that left you with a book hangover?

Eve: The new Ilona Andrew’s story, Burn for Me left me screaming for more. It sucked me in and when it was over, I whimpered because I have to wait for the next one.

TBQ:  I still need to read Ilona Andrews; I've heard so many great things about their books!

We've all fallen for a hero (or two, or three, or....ahem).  Tell us one hero that you've fallen for—who is he and what drew you to him?

Eve: Drago, from Thea Harrisons Elder Races, is the ultimate alpha male. He is just freaking yummy.

TBQ: Oh, agreed! I so loved Drago's story. :D

What's next-- Can you tell us a little bit about your upcoming releases or WIP?

Eve: Right now I’m working on my sixth Cyborg installment, Adam. On Earth, when a rebel cyborg leader is drawn into a search for answers, he doesn’t expect things to blow up. And he’s not just talking about his house. Somehow his heart explodes too with the last thing he ever expected—love.

TheBookQueen: Thanks so much for stopping by, Eve, and please know that you are welcome back anytime! Do you have any questions for our readers—something to spark a good discussion? :)

Eve: I always like to find out what readers think make the best shifter couples, but this time, I want to know what combination would make the worst shifter couple. I’m thinking a cat and a mouse.

Wolf's Capture by Eve Langlais
Publisher: Eve Langlais (January 6th, 2015)
Series: Kodiak Point, 4
Genre: Paranormal Romance

She might think she’s captured the wolf, but in the end, he’ll take her heart.

Brody is a soldier who misses the excitement of the military and its missions. He retired to work as clan beta in Kodiak Point. Talk about boring, until he’s captured by a foreign enemy.

Him, a prisoner?

Not for long. This wolf will do anything in order to get away–even if it involves seduction.

First step in plotting his escape: pretend interest in a woman. But Layla isn’t just any woman. She’s special.

Not human. Not shifter. He doesn’t know what this exotic lady is other than his.

A prisoner for years, Layla isn’t sure what to make of the enemy who shares a cell with her. He promises her hope, but that would involve trust. Despite her doubts, she can’t help but be drawn to him. Unacceptable which means she does her best to drive him nuts.

Working together, can they escape the clutches of the enemy?

And do they dare fall in love?

Welcome to Kodiak Point, where the wildlife might wear clothes, but animal instinct rules the heart.

Thanks for stopping by, Eve! :) I look forward to exploring your sexy shifters with their banter and sarcasm -- that's totally my kind of romance!

Remember Eve's fun question:

I always like to find out what readers think make the best shifter couples, but this time, I want to know what combination would make the worst shifter couple. I’m thinking a cat and a mouse.
