[Kame's Review]: "Hot Rebel"

Hot Rebel by Lynn Raye Harris
Publisher: H.O.T. Publishing, LLC (September 29, 2014)
Series: Hostile Operations Team, 6
Genre: Romantic Suspense

A rebel on the run…

Victoria Royal is a traitor. Or so the U.S. government believes. Victoria was once a promising sniper in the Army, but now she’s gone rogue—worse, she’s just landed in the middle of a Hostile Operations Team mission in the desert and blasted it all to hell.

Nick “Brandy” Brandon doesn’t expect to run into Victoria when he’s bugging out from a mission gone wrong. It’s been more than three years since she disappeared from the sniper course they were in together, and he’s finally stopped thinking about her killer curves and smart mouth.

But now she’s back—and she’s far more dangerous than Nick ever believed possible… Is she really a traitor? Or is there something more at stake? He has to decide fast—because time’s running out and too many lives hang in the balance…

Kame's Review:

Victoria paid for her sister's mistakes with her military career; now she is skirting the honorable and trying to save her sister from her terrorist husband.

I like books with strong women; and Victoria is one tough operator. She is a sniper, which is not an uncommon job for a romantic suspense character; but rare for a female character. Her sister is her family and Lynn Raye Harris does a great job with the many emotions in this plot. Victoria can't be heartless but she can't be weepy either. Nick "Brandy" Brandon is a true HOT hero; he has great love for his country; great determination to get the mission done and he falls hard for his woman. Brandy has a hard exterior that he shows his teammates, but a soft spot we see with Victoria. I loved the soft parts; especially when they discussed their families.

I would recommend reading these books in order - I accidentally read out of order and I wasn't lost - but I did not get to truly enjoy the revelations in the series as Lynn Raye Harris intended.

I really love this series - and I a little sad I am caught up.

4 STARS!

A woman sniper, how cool! I read one other book like that and loved it. I have the beginning books of this series on my ereader and need to get busy and read them so I can get caught up, too.

love this heroine here, she sounds fantastic, and I just love it when they have the heroine play a role that is different. I believe i have the first book on my nook, but I really need to read this author, especially since I haven't read a good romantic suspense in quite some time. Great review.
