Series: NotMyFirstRodeo.com, 3
Genre: Contemporary Romance

He’s a man of his word…and she’s gonna take him up on it.

A NotMy1stRodeo.com Story

After six years working his ranch and raising his boys, widower Mack Tucker is staring down the barrel of another long, lonely winter. Until his grown-up sons decide it’s time for him to move on. They not only sign him up for an online dating site, but also screen the first batch of interested parties.

Mack is furious—until he spots one of the profiles. He’s intrigued. Intrigued enough to drive three hours to Billings to meet Karen Thompson.

Burned by her ex, Karen isn’t interested in diving into another marriage, but she wouldn’t mind dipping her toes back in the dating waters. But this time, things will be different. What could be more trustworthy and honest than a strong, silent cowboy?

Their first date gets steamier than either of them intended, and Mack fears it may be too much, too soon for him. Torn between the past and the present, Mack has to cowboy up or lose the possibility of a future with the woman who makes his broken heart beat again.

Warning: Contains skinny dipping in public, sensual biting, gratuitous use of roses, and a red lace thong. Sometimes all at once.

Kame's Review:

It has been six years since his wife passed away and Mack's sons are giving their Dad a little push to start living his life again.

I just loved Mack. I can not put into words why I love this character to much. He adored his wife and I felt for his pain of losing her. He was a true gentleman who took a little while to get comfortable with the new landscape of the dating world. A lot changes from 19 to when you are in your 40's and dating. I think that is another reason I liked him, he was older and had thoughts I could very well identify with being closer to his age than most heroes in books I read. Karen was spunky and I felt her reason for using that particular dating site was valid. She made a gutsy move that in the end helped bring Mack out of his imposed shell. And WOW did they explode - yes this is steamy - just the right amount for this novella.

This book isn't without it's touching scenes, there is one with Mack's son Tim that had me in tears - but the good kind. Oh if Mack's sons are anything like their dad (and Tim seems like he is) I really want to read a series of books about them!

4 1/2 STARS!

Ahhh, I love that he is an older hero, too, but how adorable that his sons are such a part in getting him to give it another go. I definitely want to read this one.
