Whatcha Reading? (19)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and we will share our brief thoughts on books that we read during the previous week but will not be reviewing.

November 1st - 7th:

TBQ:

-- Rain Shadow by L.A. Witt --

A touching romance that focuses not just on Jeremy and Scott finding their way to a HEA, but also Jeremy's struggle to fix his relationship with his ex-wife and children. I also liked that the men were "older". While I love when the couple is closer to my age (20's), I also like having variety. After all, love doesn't stop at 30.

There are plenty of steamy moments, and some sweet ones as well, not to mention chemistry, and I loved it all. I'll definitely have to try more from Witt. 4 STARS

-- Alex by Sawyer Bennett -- [Audiobook]

The hero starts out as a complete ass, and while he does improve by the end, I can't say I ever "fell" for him. I didn't care much for the heroine either, and I can't really pinpoint why. All in all, this was a very meh book for me. The only reason I finished was because I was listening to it on my walks. Even so, I found myself zoning out more than a few times. Between a 2 1/2 and 3 stars.

-- The Game Plan by Kristen Callihan --

Dex. Oh, Dex. Who can resist the quiet, burly man? Add to that his beard, tatts, piercings (YES!) and, oh yeah, he's a virgin? DEAD. But in the best way possible. I freaking love this entire series, and this book is no different. Again Callihan delivers a super sexy romance with all the feels, great characters, and great banter. I can't stop gushing about Dex. He's perfect, just perfect, trust meI highlighted so much on my Kindle, it was impossible to pick just one quote to share (but I did!). 5 STARS!

*Note: Dex is Ethan's nickname (his last name is Dexter).

Now I know the truth. Ethan's love won't fix me. I have to do that myself. So, no, his love isn't the cure. But it is something to live for. Without him, I might not want to fix myself. Ethan Dexter makes me want to be a better person. To be brave.

Not sure yet!

I'm still in a bit of a Amazing Book Hangover after The Game Plan. I've picked up and put down 2 or 3 books after only a chapter. (sigh)

So what are YOU currently reading?

Enjoy!
