Whatcha Reading? (53)

A new Saturday post where you can share with us what you are currently (or just finished) reading and I will share my brief thoughts on books that I read during the previous week.

June 26th - July 2nd:

TBQ:

-- The Game Plan by Kristen Callihan -- *Reread*

Oh Dex. I loved his story just as much the second time around and I'm glad I'm taking the time to revisit favorite books again. It's definitely helping to cut back on the reading slumps I've had lately.

Note: Since this was part of November 2015's Royal Picks, I won't be putting it in this month's post and giveaway again. Just know that it has the seal of approval already. :)

I don't believe I ever did an actual review for this book last year, but you probably heard me gushing about it then, so I won't do so again. If you don't mind high-angst NA, I cannot recommend this series enough! 5 Stars

-- Hiatus by L.A. Witt --

This was a really emotional read, and while I wanted to smack some sense into the heroes (3, btw, this is a M/M/M triad) until they actually talked through their issues, overall I quite enjoyed it. Also, great chemistry. Full review will be up July 7th. 4 STARS

-- Wanderlust by Roni Loren --

I really enjoyed this one. Apparently I'm in a bit of a rock star romance mood lately, and I'm not even sorry about it. :) Great chemistry, sexy (because Roni Loren, duh) and I'm hoping there's stories planned for the rest of the band! Also of note: Love this cover. Full review up July 22nd! 4 STARS

-- Coming in From the Cold by Sarina Bowen --

I wanted to take a brief "break" from my ARC list and grabbed one of the many freebies I had saved on my Kindle TBR pile. It's still free, by the way. Involves hero and heroine getting caught in a snow storm -- twice, technically -- which is always a theme I really like.

I liked this story; when it was good, it was good. But when Dane was an ass...UGH. He did redeem himself pretty well towards the end of the book, but I really would have preferred more time spent expanding on their story after he stopped being an ass. It was fun at times, and definitely had the heat, and I do like Bowen's writing. I'll be back for more and I don't regret reading this one at all. 3 1/2 STARS
