[Pat's Review]: "Anywhere You Are"

romance novel cover, contemporary romance, anywhere you are by elisabeth barrett
Anywhere You Are by Elisabeth Barrett
Publisher: Loveswept (September 20, 2016)
Series: Return to Briarwood, 3
Genre: Contemporary Romance

As the daughter of a music legend, Grace Davingham knows all too well what it’s like to be burned by the media’s glare. Now all she wants is to be left to do her painting and conservation work in peace, with no intention of returning to the spotlight. But after she sprains her ankle hiking and a handsome real-estate mogul comes to her rescue, Grace once again finds herself in the public eye.

Sexy, successful, and averse to any attachments, Marcus Colby thrives on rigid discipline in order to manage both his real-estate investment company and his personal life. Marc has no time for fun, and no patience for crazy. Which is why meeting Grace—and inheriting an enormous Great Dane who won’t listen to a word he says—has turned Marc’s carefully constructed world upside down.

Only when Grace and Marc square off over a local controversy do they realize how different they really are. But if opposites attract, their love is destined to bind them together—forever.

Pat's Review:

Marcus Colby is visiting a hiking trail, paying tribute to his beloved Aunt Sarah. She had taken her dog for a walk and died of a massive stroke on the trail. Right now, all he saw was a quirky woman sprawled across the boardwalk, talking to herself.  He decided he should be a gentleman and at least ask if he could help. Turns out she had tripped while walking, sprained her knee and foot, and had no way to get out of there. After some initial haggling -- she was very stubborn -- he brought her to Urgent Care, then lunch before his plan of returning her home.

Her name is Grace Davingham. She is an artist/painter of wildlife, working on a project for the Audubon Society. Unfortunately she is recognized by a patron in the diner and her biggest secret is shouted out in her new home, Eastbridge. Grace is the daughter of a super model and rock star Dad --and a tabloid dream. Everything she does is in the media. Hiding out from her family and fame in Eastbridge worked . . . until now. Marc is horrified; he hates notoriety, pictures appearing without his permission, and lies. He stalks off.

Marc and Grace meet again at the local farmers' market. She is doing some shopping, he is chasing his out of control Great Dane, Mr. Pipplepots, his aunt's greatest treasure -- and now his. Grace manages to tackle Mr. P., who seems to like her on the spot. A relationship is born, at least between the dog and Grace. Grace offers to keep him while Marc is on a trip, but both agree he needs a new name. Big Blue seems perfect and obeys every command Grace gives him. Maybe this would work?

Grace can't get rid of her past, and her present work is effecting his investing in improving a local golf course. Marc can't keep his mind, eyes and hands off her. They have some large bumps in the road coming.

Very fun read, and can be read as a stand alone. The others in the series are very enjoyable as well.

4 STARS!
