Okay, no spoilers, so this is going to be vague as hell!
AoH is NOT like the previous books; it doesn't follow a couple's romance.
Instead, it revisits pretty much all previous couples, showing what they're up to, while also moving the plot forward and setting up for future books.
There's even a bit of Father Xavier's story with his long-lost love, and OMG but his old letters/diary to her had me tearing up at times! They finally find each other again. :)
AoH was like getting giant, comforting hug from a loved one -- or rather, dozens of loved ones.
So, so good and long-time fans of the series will really enjoy it.

I was so excited about this couple, and while I did enjoy their story, I was also a bit disappointed in the execution. It's not that I didn't still enjoy their story, but it wasn't quite, well, as awesome as I was expecting. Ah, the downside to anticipation, right? Still, a good read, though not my favorite in this series. Can't wait for the next book though!

This isn't your typical romance, as far as the writing format, but it worked for me. The story was romantic and emotional and very sexy. I fell hard for the writing and story here.

An Unnatural Vice by K.J. Charles
Releases Tuesday!

I liked this one, but it's the dread "meh, middle of the road" read that is really hard to review/explain my thoughts on. I didn't hate it, I have nothing to rant/complain about, and yet nothing about it really excited me, either, and I was easily able to put the book down (took me nearly 3 days to read, which is odd for me, especially for only 250 pages).
I did enjoy the sexual tension and build up, Charles always does that well, from what I've read
Slow burn romance -- wasn't completely sold on it by the end though, didn't see enough of them actually "falling"
A bit of a mystery plot going on, and it's only partly wrapped up here, to be continued in the next book (said plot apparently started in book 1, though I haven't read it -- each book is a different couple though)

The Rebound Guy by Farrah Rochon
Rating = 3 - 3 1/2 Stars
Kindle | NOOK | Kobo Goodreads |
This was the pick from this week's TBQ's TBR poll (actually, it was a three-way tie -- 31% each, seriously! -- so I just picked the one author out of those three that I had not read before).
I liked this one. I admit, the first 10% or so was a bit slow and I wasn't feeling the heroine. She didn't exactly grow on me a ton over the course of the book, but I liked her more as the book went on (I mainly felt like I didn't truly get to know/connect with her though)
Interesting premise -- he hires himself/his relationship advice out to women who are getting out of a long-term relationship and need to find themselves, their confidence, etc., before successfully going back into the relationship pool again.
Heroine's sister hires him, heroine is at first against it, but decides to give it a try to make her recent ex jealous. Of course it becomes about so much more than that.
This was another read that's kind of hard to review. I liked it. I didn't love it. I didn't hate it. I just liked it. Will I try another from Rochon? Sure thing.

Almost done. I had problems with this narrator, which took down my enjoyment of the story -- though I still feel like the story was just "okay". Good moments, some good quotes, but overall just an okay read.
