I'm still mostly MIA and trying to catch up on blog work. I could say I'm fine and hanging in there, but it would be a lie. The pain is still so powerful, it's hard to breathe most days. But I'm working through it, I suppose. One day at a time.
As to my reading week: it wasn't too bad, all things considered. 3 books, two that were great and one that was just okay.
In exciting news, I've got a few new contributors joining the blog's review team! You'll see Melinda's first review next Friday (6th), Chelsea's the following Friday (13th) and Sarah's in the coming weeks as well. Welcome to the blog, ladies! ;)

What I Read:
Born in Fire by Nora Roberts
5 Stars
Comfort reread, one of my first romances ever
✦ Glass artist
✦ Rich gallery owner
✦ So much sparks and tension
✦ Because this is a comfort reread for me, I no longer read it with the purpose of analyzing it. I just read it for the pleasure and ignore the rest. *shrugs* Overall, I think it holds up pretty well, even in 2018. That being said, we had a Twitter discussion about a horrible passage in book 3.
Still only $2.99!
Cherish Me by Farrah Rochon
4 Stars
✦ Already married couple (17 years, two kids) + marriage in trouble = EMOTIONS ahoy!
✦ He’s a lawyer
✦ She’s a STAHM but always wanted to work in the science field
✦ Trip to Italy!
✦ Car BJ scene tho 🔥🔥
✦ And the perfect-height table . . . 🔥🔥
✦ I have to admit, the wrap up/ending wasn't as satisfying as I wanted, considering they spent 90% of the book "separated" (as in, marriage)

The Autumn Bride by Anne Gracie
Narrated by Alison Larkin
3 Stars
✦ He returns from his life at sea to find his aunt in horrible condition and the heroine (and her “sisters”) living with her.
✦ Fun side characters -- especially the aunt and Daisy --, good narration, love the friendships
✦ But the romance? Completely MIA :/ I'd honestly give the romance, and even the hero and heroine as characters, 1-2 stars only. But I liked the story, especially the first half of the book, so I'll bump up the overall rating for that and the narration.
✦ I think I'll finish the series at some point because I am curious about the others.
Currently Listening To:
Duke of Desire by Elizabeth Hoyt
✦ CW: Rape/assault and pedophilia (by the bad guys, somewhat on page/described graphically)
✦ Widow
✦ He rescues her from the very group he’s trying to infiltrate and take down
✦ Marriage for protection -- but no touchy! No feelings!
Currently Reading:
Guarding His Heart by Synithia Williams
✦ Basketball player about to retire
✦ Divorced, has kids
✦ Fashion photographer who wants to do more art
✦ She’s diabetic
✦ First meet at a magazine photoshoot -- think Sports Illustrated Body Issue, he's naked, she's late
Enjoy!

I'm almost done with Guarding His Heart. After that, I'm going back to the reread blanket fort with BORN IN ICE by Nora Roberts.
Enjoy!
Until Next Time,
