Pat's Review:

In this new series by best selling author Marquita Valentine we meet the first brother in the Lawson family. Brody Lawson is the Fire Captain in the small town of Jessamine. He is also HOT!  He is known as the town's champion, fighting fires and rescuing naughty kittens from not so healthy trees, along with the little girl owner of said kitten. It's a town where everyone know's each other's business. But Brody has a secret.  He is in love with his best friend.

Sydney Knight works at the local bank, as did her Mom and Grandmother before her. She is known as everyone's friend, especially men, who end a date with a peck on the cheek, or her biggest embarrassment a fist bump!  She has been Brody Lawson's best friend since senior year in High School.  "Being friends with a hot guy was bad enough, being in love with your best friend was worse."  That's her secret she shares with no one. But her female friends, the McCoy sisters....Lemon and Cherry can see right through her.  Cherry was even casually dating Brody and broke it off when it broke her heart to see them staring longingly at each other. Meanwhile one of the fire companies rookies is about to send Brody over the edge. He is in lust with Sydney and is asking Brody for advice!

The McCoy sisters come up with a plan.....Sydney will ask Brody to help her learn how to seduce a man, while actually following his advice to seduce HIM! This book is funny, sweet and sizzling.  The characters are strong and entertaining and it's a friends to lovers story with twist. The second book in the series Love So True will be released in February....not very long to wait!

4 STARS!
